February -2013 Year of the Finished Project

It's the first Thursday in February.  Time to check in with Lynn over at Never Too Hot to Stitch on my progress with making 2013 the Year of the Finished Project.

Never Too Hot to Stitch!

For January, I had goals for three of my projects.

1.  Scrappy Stars (my oldest UFO)

  • make 5 more star blocks      Done

2. Evening Star
  • Add borders             Done
  • Make backing          Done
  • Ship out for quilting  Done

3.  The Sofa Quilt
  • Finish making all the "B" blocks     Done

All of January goals are done.  So not a bad month at all, especially considering how busy we've been.  I like setting monthly goals, it's easier to focus your efforts and prioritize your projects when you limit yourself to working on just a few things during the month.

So what's on the list for February?

1.  Scrappy Stars
  • make 5 more blocks
2.  Evening Star
  • bind
3.  The Sofa Quilt
  • sew all the blocks together
  • add borders
  • make backing
  • ship off for quilting
4.  Calico Cats
  • Make 18 cat blocks

5.  OSU Quilt (NewFO)
  • decide on pattern
  • cut fabrics
  • make first block
That's a pretty ambitious list for the shortest month of the year.  We'll have to see how it goes.  To see what got done last month and what's in the works for February, check out all the links over at Never Too Hot To Stitch.

  5. Beautiful quilts...and great accomplishments. I like that you break down the finishing into steps like I do. That way I can get it done.
