Design Wall Monday - June 27th

It was a good weekend for laundry and sewing.  For the moment at least, I'm caught up on laundry.  I know it won't last, but you have to celebrate even the small, short lived victories in household management.

Significant sewing happened too.  Three of the four planned borders for the Buck-a-Block quilt have been added.

I'm happy with how this quilt is coming along. I had planned to use a print for the last border, but when I previewed that last night, it didn't work with the rest of the quilt.  So I'm going to use the blue in the last border.  I may be able to finish the top this week.

That's it for my design "wall" update.  Check out other design walls over at Patchwork Times

  1. Hi Kate! I saw you on Patchwork Times and stopped by to say hello. I like the look of your blog. And I also really like your Buck-a-Block quilt! Congrats on the laundry -- somehow it makes Monday a little easier knowing your facing it with no dirty laundry! Have a great week! :)

  4. Kate this is looking so good, I love the borders. I'm kind of glad you aren't going to go with a patterned border as I love the way the solids really frame the central blocks.
Can't wait to see it finished.

  13. The borders look amazing ! I really liked the quilt before but the borders take it to a completely different level.

Well done on conquering the washing. That's a thankless chore but needs to be done unless you're planning on running round in a loin cloth and fig leaf.

  16. I agree with keeping the blue border and not adding a print there--the focus goes right to those blocks! Wonderful framing job.

Dishes and laundry, the neverending story...
