It was a good weekend for laundry and sewing. For the moment at least, I'm caught up on laundry. I know it won't last, but you have to celebrate even the small, short lived victories in household management.
Significant sewing happened too. Three of the four planned borders for the Buck-a-Block quilt have been added.
I'm happy with how this quilt is coming along. I had planned to use a print for the last border, but when I previewed that last night, it didn't work with the rest of the quilt. So I'm going to use the blue in the last border. I may be able to finish the top this week.
That's it for my design "wall" update. Check out other design walls over at Patchwork Times.
Hi Kate! I saw you on Patchwork Times and stopped by to say hello. I like the look of your blog. And I also really like your Buck-a-Block quilt! Congrats on the laundry -- somehow it makes Monday a little easier knowing your facing it with no dirty laundry! Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteI normally don't like two color quilts but this is stunning.
ReplyDeleteIt's coming together very well.
ReplyDeleteKate this is looking so good, I love the borders. I'm kind of glad you aren't going to go with a patterned border as I love the way the solids really frame the central blocks.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it finished.
I think the blue for your last border is just great! It's very stunning.
ReplyDeleteLooks great as it is! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! The alternating blocks are interesting and effective.
ReplyDeleteLooks really neat! One more border and you've got it done!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt turn out so well, I remember when I first saw the blocks wondering how the final setting was going to look and WOW it is great. Love how graphic and sharp this quilt looks. Nice.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! The border is a perfect foil for the blocks!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. I think the final blue border will be a perfect last touch. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYour top is looking really nice! I think you get bonus points for getting laundry done as well.
ReplyDeleteI seriously don't know how you are putting so many pretty borders on - I hate dealing with them - good for you!
ReplyDeleteThe borders look amazing ! I really liked the quilt before but the borders take it to a completely different level.
ReplyDeleteWell done on conquering the washing. That's a thankless chore but needs to be done unless you're planning on running round in a loin cloth and fig leaf.
It looks great, and I think the blue for the final border is the right choice!
ReplyDeleteohhhhh that is a wonderful quilt! I think it looks great now with the 3 borders.
ReplyDeleteI agree with keeping the blue border and not adding a print there--the focus goes right to those blocks! Wonderful framing job.
ReplyDeleteDishes and laundry, the neverending story...
It looks awesome! Love the color combo!
ReplyDeleteLove how it is turning out. Congrats on getting caught up on the laundry!!
