Week 56 Photo Challenge: Something Patriotic

The stuffy head and cough are still hanging around, but I finally lost the low grade fever on Thursday.  I've not left the house due to the fever, but I'm mostly back to my normal routine. I even felt well enough to do some yoga on Thursday.  I'll take a Covid test later today to see if I can end my banishment to the second floor of the house. My Guy has been symptom free, so we're hoping he missed out on getting infected.

This week's photo challenge seemed pretty straight forward.

I tried for cute with my photo.

Kate: Gnomes

These guys came home with me after my May visit to see Grad Girl.  They were supposed to decorate my office for the 4th of July, but I completely forgot about them so they languished in the closet till I pulled them out for a photo shoot.

My Guy's photo most closely matches this week's theme.

My Guy: Faded Glory

He found this on one of his rides.  It's hard to tell, but the background is one of the local cemeteries.

Grad Girl has had a busy week, but still found time to snap a photo.

Grad Girl: Red, White and Blue

She definitely nailed the color scheme.

I selected the card for this week's challenge.

It should be interesting to see what we come up.

  1. I'm glad you are feeling a bit better! Hope that test is finally negative for you. I have a friend isolating with her second round of Covid. She isn't terribly sick, but staying isolated at home. All the photos are awesome interpretations of the topic. I love your husband's photo in particular. It would be lovely blown up larger and framed. A bit sad and faded, but still beautiful.

  5. Your gnomes are so cute! They make a fun picture. Your Guys photo is sort of poignant, with the flag so tattered. Kudos to Grad Girl for coming up with a creative idea! Glad you're getting better - that has lasted awhile!

  6. Fun photos. When I see a flag like that, I wonder, why bother?

  7. I saw the cemetery right away. I think it adds to the story to have a flag in that condition in a cemetery.
