I'm a little better prepared to discuss last week's To Do List. It's Tuesday so it's time to link up with Texas Quilt Gal for To Do Tuesday. I'm happy with my progress on last week's list.
To Do List for the Week of 10/25/2022
1. Unity: Prep backing for quilting - no progress
2. Macaron Mystery: Continue adding borders ✔
3. Grocery sack: Finish ✔
4. Melodic Mystery: Work on clues 1 and 2 ✔
5. Rhododendron Mystery: Assemble as leaders and enders ✔
There was progress on 4 out of the 5, so it was a good week (at least on the stitching front). I'm stalling on the quilt back prep, mainly because it means hauling the vacuum cleaner up the stairs. Hopefully I'll manage that this week.
To Do List for the Week of 11/1/2022
1. Unity: Prep backing for quilting
All that's needed is to press it and clean up all the stray threads. But to be honest, I'd much rather sit at the machine and stitch. This has been on the to do list for the last month, so hopefully this is the week I finally bite the bullet and get it done.
2. Macaron Mystery: Continue to add borders
I'm on the final border. The first two strips are cut, the first is pinned on. I'm hoping to have a finished quilt top by the end of the week.
3. Melodic Mystery: Work on clues 1, 2 and 3
I've made good progress on clues 1 and 2, but clue 3 comes out on Thursday. My plan is to just keep going on all the clues. They get done when they get done.
4. Rhododendron Mystery: Continue assembling as leaders and enders
Bonnie Hunter released the fabric requirements for this year's mystery. I'm no where close to having last year's finished. Once I get Macaron to the finished quilt top stage, I'll concentrate more on this project.
That's my list for the week. Good luck with your to do list.
Congratulations on a very productive week! I'm looking forward to seeing Macaron as a finished top--you are so close!
ReplyDeleteI always told myself if I had a two story house I would have a vacuum cleaner on both floors!
ReplyDeleteForward progress is good, and with no real deadline it's OK to take this one step at a time. I like the colors for this year's BH mystery, so we'll see. I didn't do last year's - but I did save the instructions in my binder.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you made great progress this last week! Pretty colors in your Melidic Mystery geese. Have a great week, Kate!
ReplyDeleteYou are so close to several finishes! I hope that you find a good balance of sewing and finishing up this week.
ReplyDeleteYou made great progress forward. I prefer piecing but quilting always ends with a finished (or almost finished) quilt. I'm officially behind on Melodic Mystery also but there is hope to be caught up early this week. And then the next clue comes out...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very productive week. I am going to resist starting any new quilts but Bonnie Hunter's quilts are always so tempting.
ReplyDeleteMy dream house has a little vacuum in every room with a tiny little vacuum closet to store it in - lol! You did great on your list. I've been stalling on finishing the binding on my wedding quilt and have allowed everything else on the planet to interrupt it. Hope you have a great rest of the week and thank you for linking to To Do Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI'm late but happy All Saints Day back at you! Looks like you had a great week! I've started keeping our upright vacuum in my sewing room, thankfully! (We have a central-vac unit all over the house so we don't use the upright that often). I'm kinda fanatical about it but part of it is that I have a cat and I try so hard to keep those quilts clean since I'm selling them. Have a great week ahead!
