All the Morewood blocks are now stitched together. That was most of my sewing time on Friday. Pinning and sewing those long seams does seem to take more time than I think it should. When I went to EQ to check the border dimensions to start cutting the border strips I realized the proposed borders really didn't work for me. So back to EQ8 where I finally came up with this version.
The first white border is in the works. I'll need to cut the strips for the first light teal border tonight.
Linking up with Monday Making and Monday Design Wall. Wish I could grab a second cup of coffee and check out more link ups, but it's time to get ready for work.
Snow is forecast here in northeasternmost Illinois, too, but it will be back into the 50's by the end of the week.....Morewood is looking good!
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of your new border design. It definitely works very nicely and doesn't detract from the center of the quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt’s looking great. Sorry you’re getting more snow. It’s getting too late in the year for that nonsense. We’re having lovely weather here. Not to brag, but by rights, it should be nonstop rain for us.
ReplyDeleteWell hopefully once the weather leaves your area it will warm up a bunch before it hits Virginia. I can do without an April Snowstorm. I like your new border concept. It will look great on the quilt. Hope you can find a few more full day quilting time.
ReplyDeleteSnow in Colorado today, too! 😖 Your Morewood Mystery top looks great! I like your plan for the borders.
ReplyDeleteSnow this late--ugh.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got in a visit with your girl.
I like the new plan for the mystery quilt, making the blocks float.
Wow, stay warm and cozy this week from the snow. I like the adjustment you made for the borders and bet you'll have it ready for quilting soon.
ReplyDeleteGoing to be a beautiful quilt - I like the way you are doing the border. I did my OMIGOSH the same way! Hugs
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a dedicated day of sewing and a visit with the SIT! That sounds like the recipe for a wonderful weekend, Kate.
ReplyDeleteStill loving this quilt! It will be so pretty when done.
ReplyDeleteIts turning out so great! I like your plans for the borders!
ReplyDeleteThe top looks great and I think the borders will look great.
