Hard to believe Christmas is over and the end of the year is less than a week away. It's the time of year for reflection. Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs makes reflection fun by hosting her "Best of 2018" Linky Party.
What constitutes "best" is up to the blogger. So here's my top 5 from 2018.
1. Largest Number of Views (427), A Little of This and That. That post highlighted the first assembled blocks from Bonnie Hunter's 2017 mystery, On Ringo Lake.
2. Most Comments (28), Stars and Stars. The post showed the finished Red, White and Blue Star blocks that is currently my oldest UFO.
3. My favorite quilt finished in 2018, Chain Reaction. This quilt was made for the Scientist in Training to use in her dorm room. She loves it and I really loved making it.
4. My favorite quilt started in 2018, The Christmas Mystery Quilt. This quilt was the second mystery quilt along offered by the local quilt shop. This one was so much fun and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now it just needs a backing so I can maybe get it finished to enjoy next Christmas.
5. Most requested tutorial, How to Make Quilt Labels. The most common question that shows up in comments on the blog is how do I make my quilt labels. So I put together a tutorial on the basic process.
That's my top 5 for 2018. Now I'm off to check out more top 5s over at Meadow Mist Designs.
What great work and accomplishments. Your making quilt labels post was also very helpful. Here's to a wonderful 2019.
ReplyDeleteFun to see what ended up in your Best of 2018, Kate! Chain Reaction was one of my favorites of yours, and the Christmas quilt is fun, too. Congratulations on some great finishes this year!
ReplyDeleteLovely picks for your Best Of. I have always admired the amount of thought you put into not only your quilt designs, but also your labels,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little review of your besties for the year. I’m still waiting for those red and blue stars. It’s so pretty!
ReplyDeleteNice to revisit these highlights of your quilty year! :)
ReplyDeletethank you for the quilt label tutorial it was so helpful. You quilts are lovely, it shows that each was made with love
ReplyDeleteAll very worthy of the Best! Love the quilt labels you make, definitely putting that in my to learn file for 2019!
ReplyDeleteLovely to revisit all of these! "Chain Reaction" was a fav of mine too!
ReplyDeleteGot to say I love Chain Reaction. I need to make my son a quilt for his bed, my daughter always gets the quilts. She sees what I'm working on and just says "Can I have that one" and its gone. Its harder to make masculine quilts I find. Chain reaction is looks like it could be such a quilt. Great projects
ReplyDeleteI have recently finished a very old UFO and it is just so gratifying. So I hope you will find the time and motivation in 2019 to finish the beautiful Stars and Stars quilt. I love stars in general and yours look very impressive though also fun because of the bright background.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Chain Reaction quilt?! I have to check that out. I love the elements. All the best wishes for 2019.
I love your use of color and how you combine different prints in your work, great posts and quilts you highlighted! Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt label post. It's a great reminder that stitching that last bit of binding isn't the end yet. Seeing your oldest UFO reminds me of the bins I have here. I need to make an effort... :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy 2019!
Fun picks! I still love the one you made for SIT the best!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices and I love that mystery quilt. It's so adorable! Here's a great 2019!
