The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for October is yellow, with highlights of orange. I'm not there yet, I'm still playing catch up on the red Vintage Dress blocks. The first is done.

Wouldn't this be a great dress for a 4th of July picnic? The red, white and blue floral comes from my 30's reproduction stash which has been sitting out while I'm working on Blooms and Butterflies. It's been fun to pull fabrics from different collections. There are some Asian prints in the stash I should look at for a future creation. I still need 6 dresses to have enough for a quilt once I finish the second red block. Two of those will be yellow dresses. That will leave 4 left to pick fabrics for. Then it will be time to figure out how to set all the blocks together.

I love your Vintage dresses. Your piecing is great
ReplyDeleteThis is a really fun and jolly dress - just right for a square dance! Do you do square dancing on 4 July, or is it too hot then?
ReplyDeleteI love this dress! Can't wait to see all of your dresses together!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all of your dresses! They are gorgeous. Can't wait to see how you set them.
ReplyDeleteThis one is so cute! They'll all look so good together when you set them into the final layout.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love floral print dresses.
ReplyDeleteYour red dress is adorable! I love those 30s fabrics, but have never made anything other than a table runner with them after a friend offered me some scraps.
ReplyDeleteJust adorable. I want to wear that dress. It's as if you're on project runway! Of course the dress might need to be altered to my lack of a waistline.LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics you've chosen for your dresses have been just perfect. If I didn't know they were quilt blocks, I'd think they were actual dresses. I could totally see wearing every single one of them. So cute. You and me both being behind on the colors. I totally skipped August because I didn't want to make the color chosen. Now I'm behind for October. Don't know if I'll get my October block done or not.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking what you typed! LOL That dress WOULD look great with your Butterflies and Blooms quilt! I think you should make one for yourself, and after the quilt is completed, have a photo taken of yourself in the dress on the quilt on the 4th of July! LOL
ReplyDeleteThis one looks perfect for a farmer's daughter :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pieced Dress Blocks! This is going to be a wonderful quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat is the most cheerful dress you've made. I agree with Kevin, make one for yourself and sit on the dress quilt when it's finished. A knockout!
ReplyDeleteThis has been such a fun project to watch! Good on you for sticking through all those little piecing bits!
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is perfect for a picnic vintage dress!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is adorable. It reminds me of spring.
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun to see each dress that you make. They are all so pretty! Can't wait to see the whole collection.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful dress, and perfect fabric choice! So looking forward to seeing them all together!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying seeing each dress as it comes off the production line. Now - how are you going to put them all together? Guess we will just have to wait and see.

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that I just love your vintage dresses. I don't comment each post but they put me in mind of my Barbie doll playing days. :-)
