It's the last Saturday in July, so it's the last chance to talk about sewing with pink scraps for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. All I've managed this month is to print the paper piecing foundations that will be needed to finish the remaining Vintage Dresses and pick which dresses to make out of which pink scraps.

I don't have a lot of pink scraps, so my choices are limited. Based on my photo it looks like I may end up with two dresses out of similar prints. Hmm, may have to rethink the fabric selection for one of the dresses.
That's it for my July progress. Check out all the other pretty in pink projects over at Soscrappy. Hopefully now that the Internet connection appears to be stable, I'll be able to catch up with email and my blog reading.
Those are some tiny pieces. I didn't realize just HOW tiny. Have another fun week!
ReplyDeleteYou are far braver than I am - paper piecing is just not my thing. Your dresses are so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWell, some progress is better than no progress. I'll look forward to seeing these. I'm so glad you're making this. I get to enjoy it without having to do the paper piecing.
ReplyDeletePlanning is all part of the process. You are ready to sew once time becomes available.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your dresses, but am so happy it's YOU doing the paper piecing (AKA Sewing Torture), not me. I actually think that those two fabrics will be different enough to look great. Can't wait to see them!
ReplyDeletePrep work counts! The great thing about sewing and quilting... it waits patiently until we have time for it. Hope the work deadline is met soon so you can enjoy some sewing time.
ReplyDeleteI think you could use both pink florals anyway. You probably won't put them too close together, and who will notice then!
ReplyDeleteThis was the first of your dresses I have seen, had to go back to a previous month's post and check them out, cute!! I have not seen this pattern before, but my friend did a vintage one with little girl style dresses.
ReplyDeleteHoping your internet connection has stabilized!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your dresses, whether they're in the planning or finished stages. Such a fun idea for the RSC!
I love that these dresses are a challenge, ( for you not me, ha ha! :) they are fun to follow, and that they just bring back childhood memories...paper dolls, Barbie dolls, etc.

ReplyDeleteThose dresses take a lot of thought and work, but they are worth it. We love seeing them. My blog is sick. See you next week.
ReplyDeleteI think your pink fabrics are going to be perfect for the dresses! Wishing you some sewing time this week!
ReplyDeleteThose will be lovely dresses! Have you thought about fashion design? We all want at least a few of the dresses you have made. I adore these pink ones coming up.
ReplyDeleteThey are going to be beautiful, no matter how you go.
