I did manage to get in some stitching time yesterday afternoon. Bonnie Hunter's Grand Illusion Mystery has taken center stage at the machine, but bits and pieces of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects have passed under the needle. I finished the black Inverted Star block earlier this week.

I'm really happy with how it turned out. The gray Inverted Star is partially assembled, hopefully I'll get that one done this week.
The Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler has seen some progress too.

I'm more than half way done with the sashing and I like how the top is coming together. Not sure what I'll do for the border. The easiest option is to do a narrow black border, which at this point is most likely what will happen.
Both the Scrappy Butterfly project and the Inverted Star project need one more block each. I have the fabrics picked out for the final Butterfly block, but am still trying to decide between beige neutrals or prints with a lot of white in the background. The whites will probably not make for a crisp star, so the beige neutrals are probably the better option.

Great progress on your projects, finishing is always fun. Sorry to hear about the repair call. It is frustrating to sit waiting for someone to show up, doesn't feel much like a vacation day that way.

ReplyDeleteThat black inverted star is quite dramatic. It will feel good to have a finish. I wonder just how much time we spend waiting for repairmen and waiting for parts. So frustrating to spend a vacation day waiting. At least you can get some stitching in while you wait.

ReplyDeleteI have to miss my final class (at LQS) for the year because today's the day the man is coming to repair our roller shutters! Boo-hoo! We don't meet again until February so I'm hoping for lots of catch-up sewing time during our summer break!
