Rainbow Scrap Challenge - Week Two of Something Blue

My Guy and I were off work yesterday.  My day was spent in the sewing room, his was spent making beer.  The whole house smelled like someone was making pretzels.  Today I'm taking Drama Teen and three of her friends out for lunch then to the ice skating rink as a delayed birthday celebration for Drama Teen. We had planned this outing for last weekend, but one of the girls had state chorus and another had a debate tournament. This is one busy group of girls. 

 I can't say the blue scraps are flying out of the bin, but three more Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler blocks did get assembled.

 These little blocks have been fun to make, they certainly are fast and easy.  Especially when compared to the Inverted Star block.

 This didn't go together smoothly. I'm debating doing a bit of un-sewing to see if I can get rid of some of the puckers.  In addition to all of above blocks, I did get started on paper piecing this month's scrappy butterfly block.  No pictures yet, hopefully there will be one next week.  

 I'm enjoying playing with my scraps.  I still have a lot of cutting to do to get them all organized, but progress is being made there too.  That about covers my adventures with scraps this week.  Hop over to Soscrappy for links to more scrappy tales.

    Love all the blue! Yes blocks with bias edges do become more challenging. Have you tried squaring up your half square triangles before assembling the block. It is so easy to get off by the smallest amount and how much difference it makes.

    Very nice blocks will look forward to seeing the finished results!I have found that for every scrap I take out of my bin it seems to be replaced by three new ones. giggle giggle

    Love that inverted star! I agree - trimming each unit down makes the process go together easier.
    Your sampler blocks are looking great. I need to get a few minutes and make mine.

    Those inverted stars may be fussy to make but they turn out beautifully! Any sewing time during these busy days is just a bonus.

    I could have done with an invitation to ice skating for most of last week ...that would have been a very nice place to be when it was 115F here for most of the week.

    Im enjoying seeing your crappy play Kate. Some lovely stuff flying out of your sewing room this week.

    I like all your blue blocks (I'm a big fan of hues blue) but the Attic Window and the Patience Corner blocks are my faves! :)

    You have some of the prettiest fabrics in your scraps. The star looks good from here.

    My DH makes beer too and I can't stand the smell of cooking hops!

    I like all of them. Really pretty work. I wouldn't unstitch the puckers (they are virtually unnoticeable). It looks fine. They will quilt out or fluff up when it's washed and dried. Don't you think?
