I can't say the blue scraps are flying out of the bin, but three more Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler blocks did get assembled.

These little blocks have been fun to make, they certainly are fast and easy. Especially when compared to the Inverted Star block.

This didn't go together smoothly. I'm debating doing a bit of un-sewing to see if I can get rid of some of the puckers. In addition to all of above blocks, I did get started on paper piecing this month's scrappy butterfly block. No pictures yet, hopefully there will be one next week.
I'm enjoying playing with my scraps. I still have a lot of cutting to do to get them all organized, but progress is being made there too. That about covers my adventures with scraps this week. Hop over to Soscrappy for links to more scrappy tales.
Love all the blue! Yes blocks with bias edges do become more challenging. Have you tried squaring up your half square triangles before assembling the block. It is so easy to get off by the smallest amount and how much difference it makes.
ReplyDeleteVery nice blocks will look forward to seeing the finished results!I have found that for every scrap I take out of my bin it seems to be replaced by three new ones. giggle giggle
ReplyDeleteLove that inverted star! I agree - trimming each unit down makes the process go together easier.
ReplyDeleteYour sampler blocks are looking great. I need to get a few minutes and make mine.
Great blue fabrics and blocks. I like your inverted star block.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun challenge! You've certainly made great use of your blues. Looking forward to seeing all your rainbow creations. Happy Sewing!
ReplyDeletePS...Are you ice skating, too? Be careful out there! ;)
PPS - Happy Birthday to Drama Teen!
ReplyDeleteThose inverted stars may be fussy to make but they turn out beautifully! Any sewing time during these busy days is just a bonus.
ReplyDeleteI really like your star block. You are making many different blocks for the challenge and they look great.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks - especially the star... it's like a star within a star!
ReplyDeleteHugs
I could have done with an invitation to ice skating for most of last week ...that would have been a very nice place to be when it was 115F here for most of the week.
ReplyDeleteIm enjoying seeing your crappy play Kate. Some lovely stuff flying out of your sewing room this week.
Love the blue roman stripes! Little by little; bit by bit.
ReplyDeleteI like the variety of blocks you made. The Inverted Star block may be challenging, but it is lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove the inverted star!
ReplyDeleteI like all your blue blocks (I'm a big fan of hues blue) but the Attic Window and the Patience Corner blocks are my faves! :)
ReplyDeleteGood work!
ReplyDeleteLove that inverted star block. Lots of seams but it looks great.
ReplyDeleteI love the inverted star. It looks good from here.
ReplyDeleteNice star block. Keep up the good work with the sampler blocks
ReplyDeleteWow, your sampler blocks looking great! I try to sew the sampler, but my scraps don't work together...
ReplyDeleteYour sampler blocks look great. I don't see anything wrong with your inverted star block - it looks good to me!
ReplyDeleteYou have some of the prettiest fabrics in your scraps. The star looks good from here.
ReplyDeleteMy DH makes beer too and I can't stand the smell of cooking hops!
Pretty blocks! I find I'm pretty picky when I use a white background... I get what you are saying. You have some very pretty scraps.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue blocks.
ReplyDeleteHa - I figured it out ( the commenting thing was broken for me) I LOVE that star block!! That is such a great look!
ReplyDeleteI like all of them. Really pretty work. I wouldn't unstitch the puckers (they are virtually unnoticeable). It looks fine. They will quilt out or fluff up when it's washed and dried. Don't you think?
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks. A belated happy birthday to DT.
