On to more fun stuff than busted computers. We weren't home last week, but I took both a Grandmother's Flower Garden and an embroidery project to work on while we were away. I ended up working on the embroidery project most days, so overall my report looks really good for this week.
I actually managed 7 out of 7 days the last week. I even found my way to the sewing room over the weekend and made some progress on the coffee cup blocks and getting the borders on the purple and yellow quilt which is this month's UFO. So it was a really good week. I'm hoping the momentum will carry over to this week and beyond. I've not been doing real well on getting to the sewing room this year. I'm behind on all of my goals. Well not quite, I'm doing OK on starting new projects for the NewFO challenge.
So how did you do this week and/or the week before if you want to report both on this week's post? I saw that a few dedicated quilters posted a report last Tuesday even though I didn't. If you want to link to both posts, just use your name and add the date (for example Kate 3-20 and then the second post would be Kate 3-27). Here's Mr. Linky, write your post and link up. I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone did.

What is the NewFO challenge? Sounds like something right up my alley LOL
ReplyDeleteWow...look at you go. Embroidery is very relaxing. I like that I can do it without paying a lot of attention to it. It's so easy to pick up and put down, if only for a few minutes.
ReplyDeletegood for you in getting to relax as well as stitch~!!~
ReplyDeletei love the way that you've blended your photography with your 'report card'. so pretty~!

Hand stitching is so relaxing. What a good choice to take away on holidays. A great week Kate !
ReplyDeleteI have been very busy this past week with lots of progress...cant find my camera at the moment and have the week from h*** so I may have to pass on linking up but I'll be back next week!
Congratulations on getting so much done last week! Or I should say, so much time in your sewing room! I'm sure you must've felt a great sense of accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteDon't be too hard on yourself as far as your year's goals go... from all of the blogs I've been readings, seems like many have hit a slump (Like I did last year) or just have not had time. One thing I wasn't prepared for was that as my kids got older, LIFE happened and I was not able to do everything in the way that I was used to! Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and just enjoy the time you do get to be in your sewing room instead of beating yourself up for not being in there a specific amount of time each day, or not keeping on top of your fabric/project goals! Good week! Hope your computer comes home soon. Have a great rest of the week.

ReplyDeleteWe have so many devices I could probably do without my laptop easily (in fact I haven't turned it on since the weekend) probably should back it up more often though it has all my patterns on it which could make its demise a little awkward. Great week on the sewing front, I am going to have to get my hand sewing all organised ready to take with me with all the sports training and watching we are going to be doing this winter.

ReplyDeletemmm. I love embroidery, even if I haven't dabbled in it myself much lately. I have been rallying up my 'troops' as much as possible during the month of march, and in some respects will be sad to see it go, but on the other hand, it's been a busy march because of all the focus on getting alittle bit done.
ReplyDeleteSomeone said to me that she did not like the challenge because she had a harder time stopping after 15 minutes, and always wanted to sew more than that. I see why she says that, but the discipline of always trying time to sew is such a wonder and help in the long run as well! Keep it up!
Embroidery is a great way to spend vacation time! And I know how you feel about the laptop. Mine's dead and DH's just isn't the same!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting in stitching time almost every day! Hand stitching or piecing on the machine. I'm glad to see you did so well this last week, too! Love your tulip picture.
