Happy Labor Day to those in the United States. Hope you've been able to celebrate the official end of summer with family and/or with a little sewing over this three day weekend. I've done both over the weekend, so today will be my "labor day" as I've put laundry off for as long as I could.
I took Saturday as a personal quilt retreat day and managed to get quite a bit done once I tidied up the sewing room a bit. The yellow and purple quilt (pattern by J. Turner and M. Rolf) is being sewn into rows. I'm almost half way done with that.
I've also been working on the backing for Flurry (by Kate Spain), but no pictures of that project just yet.
I'm going to enjoy one more cup of coffee before I get going on my labors for the day. While I do that I'm going to check out all the other design walls over at Judy's Patchwork Times.
P.S. Please help me celebrate my 1st Blogiversary by clicking here.
Of course, coffee is a must while reading blogs it the morning.
ReplyDeleteYou accomplished quite a bit, Kate. A huge hug from me for taking time away from your family to help me with the Flurry backing. I have it cut out, and plan to stitch it together today. THANK YOU!!!!
ReplyDeletePS...Still sippin' on my coffee, and getting ready to hop over to the scrappy link. I threw the clothes in the wash first thing when I got up this morning. Just waiting on the dryer to buzz. Happy Monday! ☺
I love yellow and purple! Yours is such a happy combination -- it makes me smile. Have a happy day! :)
ReplyDeleteYour making great progress. It looks terrific.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt! It is going to be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the same thing, sipping my second cup of coffee, and reading design wall posts. I love your purple and yellows, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the purple and yellow. I especially like it done with the print fabrics you used.
ReplyDeleteI had completely forgotten today is Labor Day.
Yay for the purple and yellow quilt. An extra day off sounds nice...I could do with one of those.
ReplyDeleteYour concept of a personal quilt retreat sounds great! Hope you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you've used in this.
