Life happens and there was a lot happening around our place last week. Kiddo had some evening stuff that pulled us out of the house for a couple of nights, then the out of town swim meet pretty much took up the weekend. So as my challenge report shows, quilting happened only 3 of the last 7 days.
For some reason it was just hard to get motivated to do much sewing last week. Things should be slower this week, so I should be able to get back on track. At least, I'm going to make the effort. I should have plenty of motivation. A quilt is ready for binding (once I pick it up from the Post Office). I'm behind on the Layer Cake Quilt Along. Block 11 was completed last night, block 12 is on tap for tonight. Plus there is a new project in the works, the Castle quilt for Nora.
I've been really motivated to finish up projects, but I'm having a hard time getting motivated to start new projects. Which seems a bit out of sync with the rest of the quilting blog world. Maybe it's that I really, really don't like the fabric cutting part which is the first step? Maybe the deadline on getting Nora's quilt done will help get me jump started so I can clear that hurdle.
How did you do on finding 15 minutes to sew? Write it up and link it up with Mr. Linky.
You'll get there. And as far as not having a bunch of other projects going, be glad. Sometimes that can really keep you from being focused on finishing other stuff!
ReplyDeleteO.K. I am glad I am not the only one who only got 3/7 done...don`t feel bad...it`ll get better again. And spending time with the kids is so much more important
ReplyDeleteOh well some sewing is better than nothing.
ReplyDeletei have the opposite problem, I want to start lots of new projects but need to and can't be motivated to finish old ones.
I think our heads were all elsewhere last week. I didnt do so well either with the sustainable effort over the week.
ReplyDeleteThere's always next week. Here's hoping you get some major crafty time !
Some is better than none and sometimes life is more important. Hopefully you'll have more time to devote to sewing this week.
ReplyDeleteBusy week here too. I'm glad to see this spot is taking off. Now you need a button!
ReplyDeleteWe all have weeks where sewing doesn't happen because life gets in the way.
ReplyDeleteIt'll pass. It's funny; I think I'm the opposite. I like the fabric cutting part but I get bogged down in the finishing stages. At least you are aware. Set a timer, maybe, with only 15 minutes of cutting allowed?
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
