Happy Mother's Day. My kiddo didn't know what to get me, so I told her she could take me out to lunch during my next visit. We had planned to spend the holiday with my mother, but she's not feeling great, so we are targeting Memorial weekend to get the family together. My plans are to spend the day in the sewing room, one of my favorite gifts of all time.
It's been an up and down week. My back is slowly getting better. Bending is still a problem, but it's gotten less painful. We decided that maybe our 14 year old mattress was one of my problems, so we replaced that. That didn't go quite as planned. However, adding a pillow between my knees (I'm a side sleeper) has made a world of difference.
Thankfully the back problems haven't kept me from the sewing room. My stats look pretty good considering how miserable I was last weekend.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/May = 9/9 days
- 15 minute days/2026 = 128/129 days
- Success rate = 99.22%

I agree, spending time in the sewing room is the best gift - that is exactly what I told my husband yesterday when he asked what I would like to do today. I hope your back continues to get better, and I hope your Mom starts feeling better too. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day! Sewing is just the perfect gift for the day ;) I hope your mom, and your back will be better soon.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day, Kate. A day in the sewing room sounds delightful to me. I am glad to hear that you are starting to feel better and I send well wishes to your mom. Enjoy your day. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day, Kate! Time spent in the sewing room, plus looking forward to time with your girl both sound like good presents. No sewing time for me this past week, but looking forward to some in the next few days once we get home?
ReplyDeleteI can never keep the pillow in between the knees/legs when sleeping and turning it makes me wake up more for some reason
ReplyDeleteYay for a sewing day. So I heard from one of my docs that sometimes... if you need the pillow, you are having some stress on your sciatic and that using a tennis ball to roll up and down from the knee to the hip can help allievate that and help your back. Not a doc but if there is something that can help.. man you gotta know! haha
ReplyDeleteUgh on back issues. I too sleep on my side but it is bothering one knee and sometimes a hip. But the mattress is fairly new. Sigh. I think the knee is being sympathetic to my friend who had knee replacement in the fall. Great sewing stats this week. Hopefully you'll start feeling better soon.
