We pulled this card back in mid November and then proceeded to have the driest last two months of the year ever in Oklahoma. My Girl also struggled. Houston is well known for it's very localized pop up showers. There was rain, but it was never in her part of town when she was able to get a photo. So it's been really hard to follow up on this prompt.
It did finally rain this week. Though it didn't start raining till about 4 AM. So if you define night as when it's still dark out, then my photo fits the challenge.

| Kate: Raindrops on Windows |
After the storm passed, I wondered outside, but getting any type of photo of the wet landscape just didn't work. It wasn't until I got to looking at the office windows that I could see the raindrops sparkling there. You can see the black forms of the tree branches in the background. A streetlight provides the only source of light. It's not a wonderful photograph, but it's interesting. I'm just glad to have this challenge done.
My Guy was on his way home from the gym after work one night back in November and captured this scene.
If you look at the weather history for our community, there was 0 rainfall for November. We did have a few sprinkles here and there. My Guy was lucky enough to be out and about one of those nights and capture one of those rare events. This is one of the banks in downtown. The red lights look really cool.
My Girl just wasn't able to swing a photo for this challenge card. She's ready to move on to the next one.
The plan is to get back on track with the weekly photo challenges in 2026. The next challenge card is much more under our control.
I'm pretty sure My Guy is going to have a lot of fun with this one. I have some thoughts. I'm looking forward to seeing what we all come up with.

Your photos are both good ones. How ironic about no rain for the photo challenge, when usually there is ample rain. It has been a strange season hasn't it.
ReplyDeleteInteresting prompts. The water splashes should be fun, and much easier to accomplish.
ReplyDeleteI've missed your photo challenges. Looking forward to seeing what this one.
ReplyDeleteThey are both good photos. I can see how the prompt was a challenge with the weather not cooperating.
ReplyDeleteFun…your photo reminds me of the daytime water droplet shot I tried a while back. I love them both. Looking forward to the next one. I have my cards along. I’ll probably get out and do some photo prompts on this trip.
ReplyDeleteI like how your water droplets on the window caught the light! Your guy's bright red building lights are very striking in his photo, too. I just saw a funny meme online that fits with your "no rain" dilemma, except it was about photographing birds. And it's so true - if you've got your camera, there won't be any birds!
ReplyDeleteI love both of the photos. looking forward to seeing the next ones!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos , Kate. You both captured the theme perfectly. "Water Splashes sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate, I think that your photo is really stunning.....I love it! Too bad you're not here this week - it's been snowing, raining, and then it starts all over again!
