It's been cold, but that polar vortex struck yesterday, now it's really, really cold. Snow started falling Friday night around 10 PM. The first round of snow left about 3" to 4" of snow depending on where you are in the county. The second round kicked off Saturday afternoon and is supposed to run till midmorning. So we may see another 6" to 8" before it tapers off this afternoon. It wasn't exactly warm going into this storm, so it wasn't too hard to find time to hang out in the sewing room this week.

How are you doing at fitting in some stitching time?

Enjoy your sewing time!
ReplyDeleteIt is in the low teens here and supposed to be single digits tonight and tomorrow night, so brrrr! We have 4+ inches of sleet on the ground and now a few snowflakes are blowing around. Hubs hurt his back this morning trying to get a drift off the patio - it's pretty hard packed at this point - so he's down for the count, poor guy.
ReplyDeleteIs that an unusual amount of snow for you? I'm not sure what you're used to. We got snow and the low temps, too, but not enough snow to keep us home. It's still good sewing weather, though! Glad you've kept up your 100% for January!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the sewing streak, especially as it gets cold :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, Kate. Do stay warm and cozy as the low temps and snow sets in. Everything is closed at home due to the ice and freezing temps. It has been a joy to catch up on your posts since I have been away . You captured some beautiful photographs of the fall foliage and Woo Hoo on your progress on Kate's Choice. Have a wonderful week. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteUgh -- this weather has been wild and will continue to be the rest of this week. It's about 25º colder than the norm. Not much fun to go outside... I'll be hanging in the studio with the heater on!
ReplyDeleteWe ended up with 7" here and I"m loving it of course. It's a nice fluffy snow so really not a problem if you drive carefully. I was amused this morning at my weather app saying it's "1', feels like -7'; High of 24" and then below it says "today's weather will be MUCH WARMER than yesterday. " Perspective, I guess! LOL. It does make for good quilt weather. Unless I'm golfing, I don't usu struggle to get into the sewing room but when I'm in there, it's usually for hours. If all I have is 15 mins, I won't usually bother though I do know those times add up! I just need to do it in bigger chunks of time!
