We are more than a week into the new year. I'm mostly back into my normal groove. I'm doing well with focusing on my goals. But we are only a week in, a year is a long time to keep yourself in line. In fact, there's a another quilt along that's been posted I really want to play along with that's not on my new project list for 2026. I'm trying to resist, but I did look to see if I have fabric in my stash for it. I do. Oh well, I'll just have to deliver on moving my quilt tops to finished.
I did pretty well on getting into the sewing room and moving projects along.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/Jan = 10/10 days
- 15 minute days/2026 = 10/10 days
- Success rate = 100%
So far, so good on keeping up with my stitching time. It will get harder as things get busy and vacations come up. But it is motivating to get off to a good start for the year.
My Girl sent me a new photo of Queenie (My Girl's kitty) this week.
When My Girl was home for Christmas, I asked her if she wanted her tiger quilt for Queenie since that cat loves my quilts. When My Girl was little, she adored tigers and had a large family of stuffed tigers in her room. I made this quilt for her back in 2005, so it's over 20 years old. It's been folded up in my closet for at least the last 15 years. Quilts up in a closet do no one any good, they should be used and enjoyed. My Girl said Queenie really likes this one. So it should see some good use in the future. Queenie certainly looks good laying on it.
Have you made a good start on your stitching goals for the year?

The photo of Queenie on her own quilt just made my day. :)
ReplyDeleteAaaw Queenie looks so regal on the tiger quilt. So glad to hear that she will be enjoying it. Happy Sunday , Kate.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that tiger quilt is neat - and it looks perfect with Queenie, too! I'm mostly back into my regular routines, too, and having lots of time to sew. I know it's time to think about the SAHRR, so that center block is on my list this week!
ReplyDeleteI'm still catching up on December and wrapping up 2026. Looks like you've had a great start to the year and love that Queenie has her own quilt.
ReplyDeleteQueen looks great with that quilt. I'm curious -- what mystery is tempting you?
ReplyDeleteKate your stats look great! It’s nice to see you’ve gotten your groove on. I’m curious to know which QAL you are passing on? Thank you for hosting us and helping to keep us accountable. Thank you for sharing your progress on To Do Tuesday. Carol
ReplyDeleteWe have 3 cats now. They do sometimes hang out with me in my craft/office room. I'm sure you miss having Grad girl and Queenie with you.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate, Queenie looks great on that tiger quilt - I'm glad she's getting to use it. I've done almost no sewing this week - I sure hope that changes soon! Take care.
