A Lot of Slow Stiching

Most of last week was spent on the road.  So there wasn't much sewing room time. What time there was, was spent on the last few blocks needed for the 2025 Guild BOM. I can't show those just yet. So that leaves the hand stitching I worked on all week.

I finished up the letters along the bottom and have been working on the leaves just above those.  I still have one color to add to the leaves, then I need to do the back stitching for the vines.  Don't know when I'll next work on this, maybe Thanksgiving?

I am hoping to have some good sewing room time this week. I have two new projects I'd like to start, but need to finish the 2025 Guild blocks first. Linking up with Patchwork & Quilts, Sew and Tell Monday, and Slow Sunday Stitching.

  1. I miss doing cross stitch. However, I am enjoying your project vicariously. Thanksgiving looks like the perfect time to return to this autumnal project.

  4. I think it's great to have a long term hand stitching project that you can take with you on the road. A few stitches here and there and eventually you will have a finish. But no hurry!

  6. Lovely stitching. Sometimes those nothing-but-slow days seem very luxurious to me. I’m seriously considering leaving my sewing machine at home when we go south this winter.

  9. Kate, I just found your blog and love your (what I call "real" ) cross stitch project. this is how I first learned to embroider as a little girl (waaay too many yrs ago hahaha); and those types of stamped cross pieces are very hard to find these days. Yours is really looking fabulous--nice work. ;)))
I HAD to look it up on Amazon--and I did find a kit...so, I will be joining you on the long journey starting this January...
thanks so much for sharing...(p.s. I just found your blog over at Kathy's Sunday gathering) Hugs, Julierose
