It was definitely one of those weeks. I kept hearing noises in the ceiling over my sewing room, then this huge crash coming from the walk in attic. You guessed it, we have squirrels in the attic. My husband sealed up the attic about 5 years ago after our last infestation which required replacing a significant portion of the wiring over the dining room and entry way. But they've apparently found new ways in. I did find someone who would trap and remove them, plus fix the places in the roof they've damaged. I'm pretty sure the stress of dealing with that led to one day of a full out miserable and debilitating migraine. So my numbers aren't perfect for this week.
- 15 minute days/week = 6/7 days
- 15 minute days/Jan = 29/31 days
- 15 minute days/Feb = 1/1 days
- Success rate = 93.75%
I was just out of commission for one day thankfully. It's been a long time since I've had a migraine that bad. Being retired seems to have greatly reduced the number of migraines I have. Wonder why?
So how are you doing at getting in your stitching time so far this year?
Sorry for your migraine, and the squirrel issue. Still you had a great stitching week and I hope squirrels will only remain in your sewing room ;)
ReplyDeleteThose squirrels can make such mess! I'm glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteWe've had problems with squirrels in the attic in the past too. Very annoying, and they can be so destructive. I hope yours are gone soon.
ReplyDeleteThat comment was from Marti @ plainstitches. I guess I’m not signed in.
DeleteBummer. I hope you find a way to keep the squirrels out. My migraines ended with menopause, thank goodess.
ReplyDeleteYou had a great stitching week despite big problems. Hope this week is calmer.
ReplyDeletesorry about the squirrels I think we have at least one up there too!
ReplyDeleteWe've had problems with squirrels and chipmunks in the walls and ceilings. I finally spent big bucks having a wildlife control company come and seal the house (it's 110 years old, so you know it's full of holes). Anyway, when I had the bathroom remodeled 2 years ago, we found acorn shells under the subflooring which explains why we would hear little footprints running across of the living room ceiling. So far, no unwanted critters have returned, but I know it's only a matter of time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found another benefit to being retired with the reduction in the number of migraines suffered.
Pat
Oh no, those darn squirrels! They're cute and entertaining until they get in where they're unwanted. Sounds like that was stressful. Hope this week is calmer and you're able to do whatever you want!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your squirrel problem. They are so destructive. I have mixed emotions about the little varmits though. They are so smart, not to mention cute. Still, I’m glad we don’t have any where we live now.
ReplyDeleteSquirrels are so cute from a distance but not so much in your home. I can remember my dad trying to sweep a couple of squirrels out of our family room when I was in 2nd grade. I can't imagine having migraines. I hope you are back to feeling better and don't have any new issues to harass you in the future. Now back to our regular quilting week.
ReplyDeleteUgh, what a pain! We have some who are trying to nest in our house too and my husband is trying to trap them at the exit at the moment...we'll see if that works or if we need to call in the professionals. Sorry to hear that they caused you a migraine and hope you can get rid of them soon!
ReplyDeleteUgh on the migraine! Good luck with your squirrel problems. Sounds like you have found someone to resolve them to your satisfaction. We had those issues when we lived in south Texas but thankfully none here.
