Week 86 Photo Challenge: Splash

It's hard to believe we've been doing this photo challenge for over 2 years now.  It's been fun to see what we come up with each week.  I just finished putting together a photo book of the first 36 weeks.  It was fun to look back at those first few months.

Enough musing,  on to this week's challenge.

So not a hard to find subject, but it proved to be a difficult one to shoot all on your own.  I tried several different options, I'm not thrilled with any of the resulting photos, but this one was the best of the bunch.

Kate: Not the Kitchen Sink

It's not as dramatic as the photos you'll see on line if you look up splash photos, so just a routine splash.

My Guy's photo is looks more like what you'd see if you Google "splash photos".

My Guy: Splash

He had some fun images this week, but this one was definitely the splashiest.

Last weekend Grad Girl had a girl's weekend with some of her school buddies.   It was Labor Day weekend, so there definitely needed to be a beach day during the trip.

Grad Girl: Splashing at the Beach

So of course splashing in the waves was going to happen.  I think this is the first non-lab photo in several months.  It's good she got out and about for a change.

That's it for last week's photos.  This week's challenge is another common subject, so the challenge will be how to get a cool shot.

Grad Girl has already noted that her research lab is in a building built in the 1920's. In her words "I got this covered." I have some thoughts, we'll see how those work out.

  1. I can just imagine it would be challenging to get a still photo of something that's moving, but you each did it! Of course, splashing in the waves would be the most fun. Glad your grad girl got down to the beach!

  2. You all did a great job with the Splash. Next week's Rust assignment will probably yield lots of options if you get out and about in most communities.

  4. Hey--I got the rust one covered for you--I just bought a new dish drainer that said--Rust Free--and with in 2 days the silverware unit was rusting--so I had to spend another $12 on line to get one that also says--Rust free--and it does look much better so we will see--I can send you the old one to photograph--it's bottom is really rusty looking--lol!!!!
I love all your splash photos--thing all 3 of you did a great job--thanks for always sharing the photos each week--

  5. Wow! Time flies. It doesn’t seem like two years to me either. Fun photos as always. “Rust” will be easier. At least it has the good sense to stand still.
