This is my typical Monday morning post, I'm just posting a little earlier than usual so I can link up with Pieceful Wendy for Week 2 of the SAHRR. I'm also linking up with the Monday Design Wall and Patchwork & Quilts, my typical Monday linky parties.
I've really been enjoying the SAHRR (stay at home round robin). This is my first time playing along and it's showing. I'm having a real hard time keeping up with the clues. I was definitely over ambitious with my week 1 plans. That border is finally done.
I'm really happy with how week 1 worked out. I've started on border 2, but didn't get very far.
I have most of the HSTs made, so the rest of the friendship star blocks should go together pretty quickly. The plan is to put spacers between the star blocks to evenly distribute them in the borders.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the prompt is for week 3. Will I get caught up? Maybe, maybe not. If I can't keep up that's OK, I'll do what I can when I can.
Lookin' good so far! You're ahead of me.
ReplyDeleteThat first border was worth the time. Looking really good!
ReplyDeleteYour progress looks great to me! I feel like this year has a lot going on already and I'm impressed with how much you are getting done.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your SAHRR, Kate! The little stars are going to be a perfect next border.
ReplyDeleteYour progress looks amazing - I'm still in love with your starting block. All the elements just enhance it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely worth the time you took on that first border--it's fantastic! The little friendship stars will be a great addition too. I love your colors!
ReplyDeleteLooking good!
ReplyDeleteYour birds are really cute and what you have so far enhances them. I decided to skip this year's SAHRR -- more because I have a lot of UFOs to work on not that I don't have a starting block to use. I like what I did last year but haven't quilted it yet. Sigh. Hope you make good progress on yours this week.
ReplyDeleteI *love* what you’re doing with this. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteYou made good progress last week. It looks good. What a great project to welcome spring.
ReplyDeleteBluebirds of happiness! Lovely colorway.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like you are doing a great job for your first time joining in! Those birds are really cute.
ReplyDeleteThe birds are just darling!!!
ReplyDeleteGood start on your Star border, Kate! I wouldn't worry too much about "keeping up", if I were you. There's always time to catch up at the end! If worse comes to worst, you can always just share your completed quilt top at the Finishing Parade. I've done that or the past two years.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty colours! Im having lots of fun and it’s good for my brainpower both creative and math-wise! It’s my first year too.
ReplyDeleteYour SAHRR is looking great! I think you're playing along just fine!
ReplyDeleteI am so far behind in blog reading, just seeing this piece now and love the design and colors!
