My end of the year To Do List was a bit longer than typical, but I managed to get all the items checked off before today.

4. Write a post for the 2023 Planning Party ✔
5. Write a post for the Best of 2022 Linky Party ✔
So I finished 2022 strong, I hope that's a good omen for 2023.
To Do List for 01/03/2023
1. Diatom Quilt Along: Select fabrics
I took a bit of a dive into the my stash last night, but haven't found 4 blues that work well together yet. I'll need to get serious about searching the stash so I'm ready for the first part of the pattern on Friday.
2. Stay at Home Round Robin: Decide on center block and start construction.
I've been looking at my patterns and books for potential centers and so far have worked out two potentials.
This flower block is actually the combination of two different patterns. I do like it, but the measurements for the component parts are all really weird. The other option:
I owe My Guy a new recliner quilt, so I'm thinking the birds may be my best option. There is a third option, an owl. I've found three patterns that might work, but My Guy isn't a fan of any of them. He does like the birds. I need to decide soon so I have the center ready when the quilt along kicks off on Jan 16th.
3. Unity: Prep quilt top for quilting
This quilt top has been finished since April. The backing has been made and it's prepped for quilting. I've just been dreading tackling the back of this quilt. I'm going to bite the bullet and get that done this week.
4. Melodic Mystery: Work on Dec. and Jan. clues
5. Chilhowie Mystery: Work on clues 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7
6. Rhododendron: Work on block B as leaders and enders
That's a longer list than I normally have. Fingers crossed that I can get to everything on the list. Grad Girl starts her trip back to school today and My Guy just left for work. So I'll have lots of alone time to fill, this list should help with that.
looks like you will be busy!
ReplyDeleteI think those birds would be a terrific starting block for the SAHRR. I'm using the red and white piece I used for last year's SAHRR, as a part of a totally different project now. I got bogged down with no good ideas and abandoned the round robin plans after 3 weeks last year. But I sure enjoy seeing what others are doing with their own.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the SAHRR but not sure I want to start something new. I could put it on my someday list for 2024 like I did last year. I like the birds also. so much scope for imagination. having the whole day to yourself can be exciting with a plan of action. You certainly are ready with that.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have a lot of great projects to work on as you settle into a your routine this week. I hope you have a great sense of satisfaction when you get Unity prepped for quilting!
ReplyDeleteThe Diatom quilt design is a pretty one - it will make a nice QAL! Love your ideas for the SAHRR, too. I agree - your guy needs a bird quilt!
ReplyDeleteUnit top is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI like also the birds for the SAHRR, looking forward to seeing your progress on this one.
Your list is full of great projetc have fun, and Happy 2023, Kate.
Great job on meeting last week's goals , Kate. You have some fabulous projects in store for you. I am drawn to your Unity quilt -absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI like the birds too. Good luck on your list. I'm happy to see Unity again. ;) Hope you aren't too lonesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Kate! I'm so impressed with five checkmarks last week. You rocked it! I'm also thrilled that you are going to participate in the SAHRR2023. I'm a fan of your sweet birdies as a center block - and DH likes them for this recliner quilt. I look forward to seeing what you land on. Good luck prepping Unity. I know that's a task that isn't your favorite but think of it as pushing the project that much closer to completion. I hope you had a wonderful holiday! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteHi Kate. You did a fantastic job getting last week’s list done. I’m so impressed with the list for this week. I really like your bird options for SAHRR. I used a cardinal for mine last year. Good luck this week and thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. 😉
