Stitching Stuff: Week 14 of 2022

The wall calendar has been flipped from March to April.  We are hoping the weather has finally flipped more firmly to spring. It was cold and wet most of last week. This weekend has been much warmer.  I should be careful what I wish for, spring doesn't last long in Oklahoma. The average temps can go from the 70's to the 90's by the beginning of May.

Spring does add to the to do list, but not as much as it used to when the Scientist in Training was living at home. Yard work still gets added to the weekend household chores.  But this week those kind of activities didn't affect my sewing time.

  • 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
  • 15 minute days/March = 25/31 days
  • 15 minute days/April = 2/2 days
  • 15 minute days/2022 = 84/92 days
  • Success rate = 91.30%

I managed 7 out of 7 days this week for the first time since the end of February.  My Guy's bicycle accident and resignations at work impacted my sewing time for the March.  Thankfully My Guy is mostly healed up, though he's still struggling to eat crunchy and really chewy foods.  Work is going to be messy for a few months. I'm expecting my sewing time to be impacted as there is going to be a lot of overtime this month to complete a project that wasn't originally on my to do list.

How are you doing at maintaining your sewing time as the season turns from winter to spring?

  1. always hard at work when people quit and you are waiting for more people to fill the slots - as far as the change of seasons go I don't get as much done inside because of yard work and getting garden plants started - but I still sit and sew when I take my breaks if I can - at my age I do not garden or yard work all day for sure!

  4. Have to say March was a bit of a month to forget down here as well though I still managed to get stuff done even if it was just in front of the TV at night. Fingers cross you find time to keep your 15 minutes going.

  5. I love this 15 minute idea. I am going to employ it this week for changing things over from winter to spring indoors and out. Thanks Kate.

  6. Hi Kate, I'm happy that you got some sewing time before the big rush at work. I spent almost all of my free time stitching this last piece. Yeah! it's done!!! Have a great week. ps. I had to laugh at your family's pets.

  7. Hi Kate. I’m so glad to hear your guy is doing better and that you had a bit of sewing time each day to recharge your batteries. Be kind to yourself with the arrival of spring and more overtime. You need you time as well.
