Weekly To Do List for 03/23/2021
Grassy Creek: Press and prep backing
The backing is spread out over the cutting table. I'll give it a good pressing, clean off any threads it picked up from the floor and package it up for sending out. That should be doable this week. And if that's all I get done, I'll be happy.
Morewood Mystery: Continue assembling the quilt top
The last block was stitched together last night and part of the first row got sewn together. Since there are no seams to match, the assembly process should go pretty quickly. But with the focus on getting Grassy Creek prepped for quilting, I'm not likely to get this completely assembled this week.
Unity: Continue making HSTs for clue 6.
I'm making a different block for clue 7 than Bonnie used. My version uses half the number of HSTs called for in her version. I've been making these HSTs as leaders and enders since the end of December. I just finished the last block for the second border strip. At this rate, it will be the end of June before I finish clue 7. I'm really glad I switched out that block!
Butterfly Medallion: Add a few stitches
I'll be hanging out with the Scientist in Training this weekend, so I'll take my long term embroidery project so we can sit, stitch and talk.
That's my list for the week. Good luck with your weekly to do's. Linking up with ChrisKnits for Tuesday To Do.
Looks like you've kept it all going very nicely! Love the Butterfly Medallion. Enjoy your week and weekend!
ReplyDeleteEverything is progressing well! Yay for 3 out of 3!
ReplyDeleteWell done! All 3 checked off!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! And your butterfly project is gorgeous. It will be fun to watch your progress on that one.
ReplyDeleteOh my...the butterfly medallion is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI meant to leave a comment on yesterday's post, and then didn't - but Grassy Creek turned out wonderfully! I love the narrow yellow border and then all the gray. So great that your backing is just about ready to go, too. Have a good week, Kate!
ReplyDeleteI see a couple of finishes in sight for you. Congratulations! The Butterfly Medallion is going to be a beauty and is coming along well too.
ReplyDeleteYou make such good progress each week, even while having a busy job. I enjoy seeing how you move along. We were supposed to have a full day of rain, but it must be hanging with you a bit longer. The sun is shining here; we'll see if the rain arrives tonight.
ReplyDeleteI have also enjoyed seeing your progress on Grassy Creek. I think your grey and yellow borders are just beautiful as a frame for this quilt. I have a question: How long have you been sending out your quilts to be quilted by someone else? Actually, 2 questions: What made you decide to have your quilts quilted by someone else? (I'm assuming you may have quilted your own at some point, but I haven't known about and followed your blog long enough to know for sure.)
ReplyDeleteHSTs are not my cup of tea either. They serve their purpose but get old. You were smart to start early and change it up.
