It's been a week of icy roads and icy temperatures. The office was closed Monday and Tuesday, with delayed start on Wednesday. That meant I worked virtually the first couple of days, then dressed in layers and hiking boots the rest of the week. It's snowing outside right now. We're in the 5 to 8 inches accumulation band. The temperature is 4 F, with the wind chill the temperature drops to -17 F. It's colder, with more snow or ice in other places. Definitely stitching weather for many of us.
I did stay in and stitch this week.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/Feb = 14/14 days
- 15 minute days/2021 = 42/44 days
- Success rate = 95.45%
They were definitely puffed up in an effort to stay warm. I probably looked much the same when I was bundled up on my way to work.
So how did your stitching efforts go this week. Did the winter weather hurt or help on the stitching front this week?

That robin is so cute. I stopped feeding the birds this winter because it encourages the stray cats into my yard, but with the snow, I think I will give the birds some food this week.
ReplyDeletepretty darn cold here I'm so glad I don't have to go out in it.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how is living under such low temperature. Too cold for me.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm and happy stitching time.
Hi Kate, it's been pretty cold here but I'm on a break so I've been doing some slow hand stitching - mostly hexies. They sure add up when you do them for a couple of hours at a time :-) Stay warm and take care.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure all the birds around here this morning have that chunky look too! We've warmed up from -18 to -15 (feels like -33). Brr. Hope you are tucked in and warm today while it snows!
ReplyDeleteWe're getting that brutal cold here in Colorado, too. Brrr! The birds don't seem too bothered by it, though. It is nice for staying in and sewing however. Here's hoping we get a warm-up soon!
ReplyDeleteI think it is cold all over the country. Your robin does look very puffed up. Looks like it can barely stand. LOL They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI wish I would see a robin - haven't seen one since September - that is my sign that spring is right around the corner - but with temperatures below 0 I don't think I'm going to see Mr Robin for a few more weeks.
ReplyDeleteNo robins around here, but the chickadees have been busy at the feeder outside my home office window. It was -20 overnight and expected to be just as cold tonight. But since I’m being wimpy and not leaving the house in this cold, I have been spending plent of time sewing.
ReplyDeleteWowzers! Stay warm. Good luck with the weather and stitching this week!
ReplyDeletebrrrr that is cold we complain when it gets down to 4C can't image 4F. we are back to more mild weather but this week is going to be hot by the end which is another reason to stay inside.
ReplyDeleteThat Robin is adorable!!! Your temperatures, however, are not. I don't miss those days! (Used to live in Minnesota, I'm in North Carolina now.) It's been cold here for us and I even broke out the long underwear for our walks this weekend, but nothing like what you have! Glad the colder weather at least means stitching!
ReplyDeleteIt was really coldhere for the past week or so with temperatures hitting 29 below Celsius. Today the snow started again which means warmer weather. All I know is I’m staying home and sewing. Love that sweet little Robin.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy week! Glad you were able to work remotely a few days and managed to have time for sewing! Hope it has warmed up for you - we got above freezing on Friday for the first time in over two weeks and now it almost feels balmy in the mid-40s!
