Mostly Mysteries and a Little Snow

We got snow yesterday!

It was just a couple of inches, but it was pretty while it was coming down.

This will probably be the end of the roses till next spring.

On the stitching front, there's not much to show.  Frolic is still in the binding stage, I hope to have that finished for next Monday's post.  Unity is still up on the big design wall and there's been some progress on the second flying geese border, but nothing photo worthy.

The rest of my sewing time has been split between the Morewood Mystery from Meadow Mist Designs and Bonnie Hunter's Grassy Creek Mystery.  Morewood has one clue per month and I finally made a start on the December clue.

I wasn't sure about the print chosen for fabric D, but I think it's going to work just fine.

While I'm on track with the Morewood Mystery, I'm way behind on Grassy Creek.

I've made some progress with clue 1, started cutting the strips for clue 2, but haven't even printed the instructions for clue 3 yet.  My last day of work for the year is Thursday. Most of my Christmas stuff is done, just a few presents left to wrap. So hopefully I'll have lots of stitching time while I'm off and I can get caught up on both mysteries.

Linking up with Monday Making and Monday Design Wall.

  1. The light snow looks beautiful on your roses. It's always a bit sad to know we will not see them bloom after our first snow. Your Morewood Mystery units and fabrics look great. I hope you have a wonderful week.

  2. That snow looks so pretty. We had plenty of snow early - in October. Twice! But then it all melted and we are having a brown, dry, cold December with no likelihood of a white Christmas. Sigh!! The Morewood mystery is using colors I love so I'm eager to see the results eventually.

Hope your last few days of work before Christmas are good ones!

  3. I'm glad you got to see how that fabric worked in the mystery quilt. I can't tell how big the block is, but it seems to show all the colors and the overall pattern. Looks good to me!

  4. With three Grassy Creek clues I'm starting to try to figure out how the units go together. Whatever my guess is, I know it will be dead wrong. No snow here but with overnight temps below freezing all flowers are gone for the season.

  5. We had a dusting of snow and it's suppose to snow all week - if just dustings each day that will be fine OR we will be buried. I'm not doing either mystery, but enjoying watching others.

  6. we had a tiny bit and I'm surprised some of it is still on the ground in places it is 40 and sunny and we didnt even get a half an inch - I've got a rose drooping too

  7. Wow, you still had roses in December - that's amazing! We've gotten some snow in Colorado, too. Glad you're making progress on your mystery projects - even if just a little bit.
