Making Progress on the Stitching Stuff

The weekend started off with the potential for severe weather. We did get a lot of rain, then we got snow, which was mostly melted by Sunday afternoon.  Still it was a great weekend to stay home.  Which we mostly did, till the Scientist in Training had to head back to college Sunday afternoon.  But she'll be back on Friday since they don't have school next Monday.

I did find my way into the sewing room for some extended stitching time over the weekend.  The backing for Twinkle Stars is now all stitched together.

It needs the stray threads cleaned off and a good pressing before it can be folded up for shipping.

There was also a good amount of progress on Friday's Clue 8 of the Frolic Mystery Quilt along.

I've got a few sets of that clue made, so if we Clue 9 includes a block, I should be able to make at least a couple of blocks. Hopefully, I'll get more made before the next clue comes out on Friday.

I also started a new leader and ender project this week, assembling the rows of the Mosaic Mystery quilt.

All the blocks are up on the design wall. Since I took this picture the first row has been sewn together and I've made a good start on getting the last row stitched together.

All in all a productive week.  I'm hoping this week is as good.  Linking up with Monday Making and Monday Design Wall posts.

  2. I followed the Mosaic Mystery, but I didn't sew. Now I'm regretting it because yours is gorgeous!

I am supposed to be doing Frolic as well, but a bad attitude on my behalf has me stuck at clue 2. It's nothing to do with the mystery and all to do with me. You've done well to keep up. At this point I might as well wait until the reveal to save myself the hassle of organising the different sets.

  3. I'm not frolicking as light-heartedly as I was at the beginning of the mystery -- I finished t he 25 sets in Part 8 but didn't match up the pieces in the other sets. I think they can wait until this week's clue.
The big storm did not hit us as fiercely as forecast. I guess it's better for them to over-predict than under-predict. Lots of wind but only a couple of inches of snow. That's fine with me!

  4. I wonder what the final design will be - I have been saving the clues in case I want to make it.

  6. Your Frolic clues are looking really great! I'm currently starting on Clue #7 and also going back to Clue #4 to make those HSTs now that I found some additional aqua to work into my units. Your Mosaic quilt is absolutely gorgeous and it is definitely my favorite one that I have seen so far!
