On top of the busy schedule, the autumn allergy season is here. It's a few weeks early due to the wet summer and it's miserable. Evening naps to dissipate the sinus headaches have taken another bite out of my evening stitching time. Even with that I did manage to work in my 15 minutes every day last week.
15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
15 minute days/Sept = 14/14 days
15 minute days/2019 = 229/257 days
Success rate = 89.11%
My success rate has been below 89% since June, hopefully I can keep up the momentum to get back to 90% in the next month and keep it there till the end of the year.
So things are looking up on finding time to stitch, that's not the case with my stash management goals. There was this Halloween quilt pattern that caught my eye. I had such fun making a Halloween quilt last year, I couldn't resist. Then of course I had to order fabric to make it. So this showed up in the mail earlier this week.
Pattern is Witches Night Out by It's Sew Emma. Top fat quarter bundle is Gone Batty by Wilmington Prints. Bottom bundle is Raven's Claw from Northcott. |
Unfortunately, my current project slate and limited stitching time isn't using a lot of fabric, so the outgoing numbers are still a bit anemic.
Fabric out this week = 0.32 yards
Fabric out for 2019 = 36.66 yards
More fabric in than out
That was my stitching and stashing week. How did yours go?

Pat Sloan is doing a stitch-along with that pattern. They started in August, but you could still play along. It might help motivate you to sew more.
ReplyDeleteCute pattern and some great fabrics to make it with. I was going to mention Pat Sloan's QAL too, but Donna beat me to it!
ReplyDeleteI missed a day, but I am not sweating it, I'm still at 97%. Even if I miss 1 day a week here on out I will stay above 90%, so I'm happy with my track. Now, spending, SOOO not happy with myself! But at least I will start the new year with lots of stash to use up, right?
ReplyDeleteSo sorry the allergy season has already started for you. We have had a dry summer, so the seasonal allergy season hasn't hit yet, but since I am working on decluttering, my dust allergies have kicked in from time to time. I bought some fabric this week while picking up my sewing machine. The last couple of years haven't been good for me stash wise - or maybe I should say they have been very good for my stash.
ReplyDeleteLove your Halloween choices!!! I have a few Halloween projects of my own to continue/finish. Hope you are feeling better soon and can get back into the sewing swing.
ReplyDeleteWe don't do Halloween in this house, but it's getting more popular down here, I think it is the retail sector pushing it more than anything. I was in a Halloween Ornie swap a few years ago with when I was in a internet group of prim crafters. I'm don't have many oranges in my stash, maybe I should get some halloween prints for their novelty. Hope the allergies ease off sinus headache's are not fun.
ReplyDeleteI like that quilt pattern - I think it will be great!
