The blue and yellow pieces are for the Simply Sensational Summer Scrap mystery quilt which has already had it's reveal. I'm playing catch up with that one. The purple and beige are for clue 2 of the Mosaic Mystery quilt along that started last month. The bit of blue in the lower right is a Wild and Goosey block. The white strips at the top are for the next border on Storm at Sea. If I'm working on the next border for SAS, that means the pieced borders are all on. So it was time for a quick trip to the master bedroom to ensure the final borders will provide enough drop to cover the mattress.

I'm really happy with how it looks on the bed. The plan is for another 7" of border, one narrow white and a wider dark blue. That should provide ample length/width to cover the mattress. Our current quilt (peaking out from under SAS) is just a tad short. Drives My Guy nuts when he's making the bed.
I'm taking Friday off, so maybe SAS will become a finished flimsy this weekend. Or maybe not. Trudy is done with the quilting on Vintage Dresses, so that may be back ready to bind this weekend. Or I really should get going on stitching all the Twinkle Stars together as that's my September One Monthly Goal. The blocks aren't even up on the design wall as yet, so I need to get a move on with that project.

Oh it’s beautiful.
ReplyDeleteToday's mattresses are so deep it's hard to get anything to completely cover them! Enjoy your cooler weather; we are still sweltering here in East TN.
ReplyDeleteStorm at Sea looks great on the bed! Another 7 inches should be perfect. Have a great week, Kate!
ReplyDeleteOh this is gorgeous. Love the size of the blocks and how the design fits on the top of the bed. Great job.

ReplyDeleteOh it looks so wonderful on the bed! And I did a little squeal because I cannot WAIT to see 'my' dresses!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the way the blue border fits the bed. Since it is on your bed, does that mean this one is for you?
ReplyDeleteGood plan to add extra to the sides of the quilt--I didn't and mine after quilting and washing shrank a lot and is a few inches shorter all around. It works, but would be better longer and wider!
ReplyDeleteRain? what is that? lol
Boy, that quilt is stunning on the bed! Hope you have an enjoyable and productive day off today!
ReplyDeleteDecisions, decisions, and a long to-do list. Have fun this weekend!
ReplyDeletethat quilt is really increasing in both size and beauty!!
