Week 18 of 2019: Stitching and Destashing

The calendar has flipped from April to May since last weekend.  For my part, I'm hoping May is a much slower paced and just an over all better month than April was.  We spent last weekend at a family wedding. It was nice seeing all the family and the wedding was everything it should be. But I broke a tooth sometime during the weekend and that made the last few days of April more than a little painful. All is well now, but I'm hoping to avoid any more such surprises in May.  Thankfully rather than not being able to stitch, having something to distract me till the dentist appointment meant it was fairly easy to work in more than 15 minutes of stitching time in the evening.  How was your stitchy week?

My stitchy week was pretty productive.

15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
15 minute days/April = 22/30 days
15 minute days/May = 4/4 days
Success rate = 90.32%

My goal for 2019 is to get in at least 15 minutes of stitching time 90% of the time.  So I'm back on track there.  You can link up at the bottom of the post to share how well you did with finding time to stitch this week.

The stash busting wasn't as successful, but there's a bit going out this week.

Fabric out this week = 0.21 yards
Fabric out for 2019 = 19.46 yards
More out than in for 2019

I may not have much going out, but at least there's not been much coming in this year.  My goal is to just to reach the end of the year with more out than in.  Linking up with Quiltpaintcreate for the weekly stash report.

The weather was beautiful last weekend and the extended family headed out for a walk in the park before we all headed home.  The azaleas were beautiful and the dogwoods were too.

So how well did you do at fitting in a bit of stitching time each day?

  2. Having a slower May is my dream as well. Thank goodness sewing is something that can be done in small bits so we can get that little bit of "therapy" in each day.

  3. Love your flower photos. I will have a self imposed slower May with being on the road, so I hope to get something finished before the trip.

  4. I actually went into my sewing room yesterday for more than 15. Maybe I should try to get back to sewing more than 15 a week.....giggle.

  5. Hope you feel better & get to the dentist soon. Thanks for hosting this linky. I've been more motivated to pick up the needle & thread more days than before joining.

  6. My MIL use to have azaleas that colour in her garden, I assume the BIL has kept them going. My hubby is always having problems teeth chipping, he has a broken front tooth that keeps needing repaired. He has spent too many years being to harsh with his toothbrush. His dentist is always messing around with his teeth. She talked him into have the front 2 capped last year and so far so good but oh the discussion over that decision. I've had the same veneer on a peg tooth for 15 years with no issue.

  7. You broke a tooth??? Was the wedding cake full of jaw-breakers?
Yes, the azaleas are a pure joy these days.
Since I am back from my trip, sewing is back in full swing!!!

  8. You know I've got to comment on that beautiful dogwood photo! I love the pink dogwoods. There are a few in my neighborhood but I only have the white ones in my yard. Such beautiful trees.

So sorry to hear about your tooth! Hope it is fixes/less painful now.

  9. You've had a few incidents of not perfect health stuff lately, so here's to healthy, warm summer days approaching! Oh I do love azaleas too; mine is in full bloom and I just love it. I would love a dogwood once we get all our landscaping underway; they are just so magical. 90% when working full-time is pretty darn good I'd say!

  10. Thank you for the azalea picture! I grew up in TX and we had several in our yard - I sure miss them in the Midwest! Hope your tooth is ok and that your May has been a little quieter! I just arrived at quilt retreat today and look forward to making some good quilty progress this weekend!
