Week 15 of 2019: Stitching and De-Stashing

My apologies that this week's post is a bit late.  It wasn't my intent to sleep in this morning, but my body had other ideas.  It's been a pretty miserable week on a number of fronts that severely impacted my stitching time. Hopefully your efforts to fit in 15 minutes of stitching time worked out better than mine did.

Last Sunday started out at 4:15 AM with the drive to the airport for a business trip to the West Coast. Tuesday afternoon, either my allergies were on the rampage or a respiratory virus kicked in and I was pretty miserable from there on out.  Then to top it off, my flight home on Thursday was delayed till the next morning, so I spent the night in a hotel without any luggage (thankfully the Benadryl was in the computer bag). I ended up changing flights Friday morning because they kept delaying my original flight.  I spent the rest of Friday in bed trying to recover from whatever had taken over my sinuses.  Consequently there wasn't a lot of stitching time this week.

15 minute days/week = 1/7 days
15 minute days/April = 7/13 days
15 minute days/2019 = 93/102 days
Success rate = 90.29%

At least I'm still on track with my goal of stitching 90% of the days in 2019.  I've got one more business trip this year in July, but thankfully it's only 2 days.  Hopefully, I won't get sick on that one.

I did manage to make it into the sewing room for a while yesterday afternoon and made enough progress to have something to post for this week's stash report.

Fabric out this week = 0.32
Fabric out in 2019 = 18.24 yards
More out than in for 2019

I'm doing better on my stash busting goal this year. But it's getter harder and harder to resist some of those newer fabric lines.  Linking up with Quiltpaintcreate for the weekly stash report.

So how did your stitchy week go?

  1. There is nothing more miserable than feeling bad on the road. Glad you're feeling better enough to get back to stitching.

  2. You poor dear! My head is spinning and I'm not sure if it's from allergies or my Minears, so I just keep taking allergy meds. I haven't done well at ALL in resisting fabric!

  3. I feel your pain - my husband and I have been struggling with respiratory/temperature thing for two weeks! I have sewing to do and I just can't get started. Maybe a quick look around and straightening of my sewing space will do the trick. Feel better soon!

  5. I hope it was just allergies for you, but being sick on a trip is rough. Stuffy sinus on a pressurized airplane sounds painful too. I don't how people make it through spring without Benedryl.

  6. Yuck! I’m so sorry you had an attack of “whatever it was.” I hope this week will be much nicer and you can have a splendid, stitchy week!

  7. Oh you poor think nothing worse than being in a plane and away from home when you are unwell. Hopefully you are on the improve. My sinuses have been bad the last week or so time of year I think or it may have been the fact that I mentioned to my husband that i hadn't had a problem with them for a while. Finger cross for a better week ahead.

  8. Well I empathize with your sinuses; mine aren't too bad at present but my throat and lungs are, and I have no voice... Feel better soon.
