Since it's Sunday, it's metric day. How many days did you find time to stitch this week?
I had a pretty good week on that front.
15 minutes stitching days/week = 7/7 days
15 minutes stitching days/Oct = 26/27 days
15 minutes stitching days/2018 = 282/300 days
Success Rate = 94%
Unlike last week, I did manage to get in some stitching time every day this week. But the stash report looks anemic compared to last week's.
Fabric used this week = 0.28 yards
Fabric used in 2018 = 38.27 yards
More in that out for 2018
For many years I assumed fabric usage would go up as the amount of time in the sewing room goes up. I finally did the math (or actually the graph) There's definitely a relationship, but it's not proportional.
Same with number of finishes in a year, there's a relationship, but again its not proportional.
So the amount of fabric out must be one of those multi-variate relationships. Hmmm.
Linking up with Quiltpaintcreate for the weekly stash report. If you want to share how much stitching you got in this week, you can link up below.

I always love the wonderful graphs and charts that you include in your reports. You are doing great with the 15 minutes, and even a small increase in stash usage is a good thing. Enjoy your day of stitching!
ReplyDeleteI love that you graphed it out. It's because fabric purchases generally are emotional, love-filled, whimsical purchases that defy logic and reason. LOL! That's my excuse, anyway! Good job on getting the stitch time in! I've not been so productive this month! But I binged yesterday...does that count?!? :)
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better after a day of rest. Sounds like a hand work day to me.

ReplyDeleteI just deleted a comment about buying fabric and saw that your charts were about using fabric. I think it depends on the project - some projects just use more fabric than others, and you have to save some to put in your stash for future projects, and buy extra for mistakes, shrinkage, etc.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your scratchy throat. That's when I turn to Vitamin C and lots of water. I hope yours is just allergy or weather related.
ReplyDeleteGood week with your daily stitching. My good intentions didn't pan out and I just fondled fabric this week. No actual sewing, just washing, studying, and contemplating.
Rest today, I hope you miss the stuff going around!
ReplyDeleteQuiet week in the sewing room for me, because it was a busy week of work and after-work activities, but I did find some time this weekend...now if only the thread on my longarm and I could get along!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon! I am finding the more fabric I buy, the more I want to buy!!! And the more things I finish, the more things I want to finish. But does that mean I finish more? No. Does that mean I buy more, LOL, absolutely!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, those charts are interesting! I love math and I love charts, but I wouldn't have thought to put them together for this. =) There are a lot of variables in use, I think you are right. At least you used something, and you did get to stitch every day!
ReplyDeleteLove your graphs. You've inspired me to use the free time tracking tool, Toggl. I use it for work and now also for my sewing projects. Thanks so much!
