Weekend Stitching: Slow Going

Thank goodness for weekends.  It was nice to sit and catch my breath on Saturday.  A little laundry and a lot of sewing room time was a nice break from work.  Sunday was mainly spent setting up for the science demos for the local 5th graders.  My Guy is involved with that all this week.  I'll help out with the demos on Thursday and then help with break down and moving all the demo supplies back to storage.  

 There wasn't a lot of sewing room time last week due to the business trip, but I did manage to get one row of sashing and one row of the Vintage Dress blocks all sewn together.

 I've made a start on the sashing for the next row of blocks.  It's slow going, but I like how the frames are working out.  

 Not much progress on anything else as there as this project takes a lot of focus to get the right fabric in the right corner for the corner stone blocks.

    Oh my goodness, I wish I had one (or more) of those dresses. I'd be the belle of the ball. Very pretty and when something is that pretty, you cannot rush it. I agree with you - thank goodness for weekends!!!

    Tedious sewing all those coping strips and then the sashing, but very effective! Glad Stitching is still happening.

    The color coordinated frames are so wonderful! Makes each outfit really shine, like having just the right shoes :)

    I like seeing this quilt come together. One of the dresses, the black and white polka dot with pink sash, looks like a Barbie dress I used to have.

    Those vintage dresses are adorable! I want one! Also, the quilt in your header is so so so pretty. I want to make that one too. Well, I want to make EVERYTHING these days! I am resisting so I can do finishes instead.

    I love your vintages dresses so much, I can hardly wait to see it finished even though it will make me sad, there won't be anymore posts about it after that. Unless you make another one of course :-)

    The frames are perfect for the quilt! A lot of work, but then the blocks themselves were a lot of work, so it's fitting!
    And I laughed at Daffycat and the "sashing" auto-correct! I always get chided with red underlines when I type "sashing", but at least I don't get 'corrected'!
