Friday finally came. It was one of those weeks where each day seemed to just stretch on and on. But now I can look forward to no drives to the office for the next 10 days, though I will have to drag out the work computer at some point to finish up some reports that are due on Monday.
There hasn't been a lot of stitching this week. Between trying to deal with the time change and the hectic work week, I pretty much fell right into bed after dinner a couple of nights last week. There was enough energy left after work yesterday to finish off the last of the orange fan blocks.
The layout of the blocks in the final quilt is based on this arrangement, kinda sorta. Just 16 magenta blocks left to make before I can start sewing all the blocks together in rows. With some time off this week, I'm hoping to knock out those last fan blocks this week.
Linking up with Socrappy for the weekly Rainbow Scrap Challenge report and on Sunday with Oh Scrap.
Wow, your orange blocks look amazing! I can't wait to see all the colors together!
ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty! I think orange is so fun to sew with. Enjoy your magenta blocks and your week (mostly!) off!
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks! I bet that is going to be one amazing quilt. Can’t wait to see it all together after the magenta ones are made. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeletewonderful colors
ReplyDeleteWow! That will be striking!
ReplyDeleteOh, the smile on my face! LOVE these (orange) blocks showcasing our RSC Color of the Month... BLACK in the background.
ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that early sunset kicks my butt too-- hard to work up energy when the dark is so fast! Have fun on this vacation--hope lots of stitching time does happen for you.
ReplyDeleteSewing those bright orange blocks should of kept you awake at least for alittle while!! Glad you have some time off -to sew and chill!!
ReplyDeleteenjoy the moments, di
I had a good stare at the blocks and it has a lovely subtle 3D effect, nice, I like that. The hour changed here about three weeks ago, now it is dark by about 4.30pm. Some people hate it but I like to close the curtains and shut out the world, nice and cosy sitting in front of the fire with a quilt.
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are so dramatic! Looking forward to seeing the whole quilt!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Your blocks look smashing. I personally love the end of DST, as it means it’s not so dark when I feed the animals and drive the kids to school. My dad loves DST, so we have a good time complaining!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking forward to this! Those blocks are so dramatic and beautiful! Can't wait to see them all rounded up together!
ReplyDeleteI love the pop! of that orange and black color combo - looking forward to seeing all of your RSC blocks play together!
ReplyDeleteMaking Headway! I really love this block...it won't be long now!
ReplyDeleteThe black really makes the colours pop right out.
ReplyDeleteI like the secondary pattern that develops. Good luck on moving forward!
ReplyDeleteI just realized (looking at the scale of some of those prints) that these blocks are much smaller than I thought. I now understand why you have been making so many. It is going to be amazing when it is finished. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteI had a week just like yours, I think! I'm glad you finished your orange blocks. They look great.
ReplyDeleteThese look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThese orange blocks are great! Hope you’ve gotten some R&R in this week!
