| On Ringo Lake, 2017 Bonnie Hunter Mystery |
Here's the first six. I didn't realize that the red print was directional until these 9-patches were finished. I've decided not to worry about it. The print is pretty small, so it won't be noticeable unless you look really closely. I may be sorry that my "brown" (gray) isn't lighter, but it works OK here.
The only other noticeable progress in the sewing room was on the current leaders and enders project, Vintage Dresses.

Three more blocks are now framed and cut to size. That leaves seven blocks at the sewing machine in various stages of completion. I'm hoping to get this quilt to the finished flimsy stage by the end of the year.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the different fabric palettes for On Ringo Lake over at Bonnie Hunter's On Ringo Lake linky party today. I'm also linking up with the regular weekly parties.

I have done that directional print thing before too. I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out, and so I don't think you have anything to worry about. I like the fabrics you've chosen.

ReplyDeleteI love your nine-patches and your color scheme! I managed to get all of my strip sets sewn and sub-cut to make 25 units for my half-ish sized quilt!
ReplyDeleteEven though I'm not doing the BH mystery, I have fun following along with what other people are doing for it, and I really like your colors so far! Isn't there a third color? What did you choose?
ReplyDeleteI hate it when I figure out what looks like an overall pattern turns out directional. Sneaky fabric. Good luck with the mystery. I'm skipping this year (again). I'm taking a class in Feb. and have another one waiting for borders....

ReplyDeleteI can’t even tell the prints are directional! And my gosh, I love those dresses! Did you draft the patterns yourself or are they from a pattern? I might have to make a few.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, that fabric print is so tiny that no one will notice the directional aspect of it. So proud of you for taking a leap of color. Who wants 235,671 quilts looking alike?

ReplyDeleteThe difference in the pattern is too small to notice, so, blind men and galloping horses. I so love your vintage dresses, you can show them every post for me, more drooling time.
