Thankfully, this weekend was relatively quiet and my sewing room was a nice place to hang out. There was progress on a lot of fronts, but most of it's not picture worthy. Geek Chic is moving right along. The last set of blocks are ready for stitching, but that project had to come off the design wall so En Provence could go back up.

For some reason, I started with the bottom rows. One row of sashing and one row of blocks are now assembled, with one row of sashing partially assembled. There are lots of seams to match on these blocks. Took forever to pin the rows together! Getting this to finished flimsy stage is going to take some time.

ReplyDeleteI find it gets it off the design wall sooner, and gets it to the finished top stage quicker. This is my least favorite part of quilting and so I tried webbing and like it. Very pretty colors in your version, and thanks for sharing with Design Wall Monday.

ReplyDeleteYour En Provence blocks look great together! Bonnie's mystery quilts generally aren't quick and easy to put together, but they are definitely worth the time.

ReplyDeleteAny progress is still progress--I know we often want to see our progress go faster--but sometimes it just crawls--but even crawling we can get to the finish line--as long as we keep at it--and those colors should keep you 'crawling' so pretty to work with--

Progress is good...this will be a flimsy before you know it. Matching seams does take a lot of time and sometimes I'm tempted to skip some of the pinning, but I'm always glad I don't. It's looking so good! Have a great week and I hope you don't have too much homework!

ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty! I hear ya on the seam matching.... it was a big challenge as I remember because none of my seams were butting properly and it was tough going.

ReplyDeleteI hear you on the lots of seams to match - my mum's quilt is like that and I'm still at the blocks stage! I just LOVE your En Provence...I may have said that more than once...
