I've gotten a very late start this morning. Last night was supposed to have been Drama Teen's winter formal, but it started snowing right about 6 PM and the school canceled the dance at 7, just an hour before it started. Of course DT and her friends were already at dinner by that point. So with everyone all dressed up and with no place to go, they all came over here to play board games and hang out. Needless to say I didn't get to bed till about midnight after making sure they all got home safely. Thankfully it was a very dry snow, so the roads really weren't that bad. Drama Teen looked very festive.
So my plans for an evening of stitching didn't quite work out, but I did get a bit of stitching in between the pre-party photo session and the impromptu party. It didn't make up for all the nights this week I didn't make it to the sewing room, but some is better than none. Actually it wasn't so bad this week, I did mange to get in 4 sessions in the sewing room this week. With just one week to go, I've managed to find time to stitch 274 days out of the 352 so far this year.
There's a bit out of the stash this week:
Used last week: 0.52 yards
Used year to date: 59.03 yards
Added year to date: 69.02 yards
Need added year to date: 9.99 yards
There probably won't be a lot of stitching this week as holiday prep is in full gear and we'll be spending time with family. But I'm off work the whole week after Christmas, so I'm hopeful of getting in a lot of stitching before the end of the year.
Linking up with Patchwork Times for the weekly stash report.
DT is beautiful. Sounds like the kids made lemonade from a disappointing turn of events.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is lovely - she looks so festive and happy. Glad the kids were able to enjoy their special evening anyway, and all got home safely.
ReplyDeleteYou have a very beautiful Drama teen there--and I love her smile--and how great of you to have the teens at your place for some fun and games--did you find enough snacks to fill them up???
ReplyDeletelove and laughter,di
Even though you didn't get to sew, I bet you had a great time with the kids! Hope you get to sew today!
ReplyDeleteToo bad the kids missed their formal, but they were offered a great alternative.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for a whole week off! DT looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the dance, but it sounds like they made the best of it. DT looks so pretty! Sometimes stitching time has to be postponed for other events.
ReplyDeleteSorry DT didn't get to the dance, but she looks beautiful in her red dress. Glad they were able to come to your home for games and after dinner fun. Yipee for time off after Christmas. THat will give you lots of time to use your stash.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girl, she looks stunning. Sad the dance was cancelled, sounds like they still had a good night though. So, your stash will have increased by just under 20 yards this year when you add in the 'need added' ? Thats a lot of fabric, you must be very happy.
ReplyDeleteAh, flexibility is the key, isn't it? Sometimes I sit and think there will be a day when no one is pulling me away from my happy place, and that in itself is little sad. I'm glad you were there for your dd and her friends. Her smile shows it, too. She looked just beautiful, btw!
ReplyDeleteThey might have had more fun at your place. She looks very pretty. Red is a good color for her.
ReplyDeleteRemember when staying up to midnight was easy! LOL!! I love happy happy DT looks and that you two are so close. Great memories being made for sure...and you are still getting in some sewing!
ReplyDeleteDT looks absolutely beautiful, sounds like they still had a good time. I hope you get plenty of stitching time in your week off.
