Vintage Dresses by Charise Randell |
Another favorite, I'd wear this one if it was hanging in my closet. These dresses really have been a challenge, but my paper piecing skills are definitely improving. It's still not my favorite way to piece, but I'm not scared of it any more.
After a my walk this morning, I've decided to spend the day in my sewing room. It's been a while since I've had a sewing only day. Rather than work on all 5 projects that lay in various stages in my sewing room, I'm going to just work on 3. Getting the Midnight Mystery quilt bound is my One Monthly Goal for July, so that needs to get priority. Lea of Podunk Pretties has a link up on Tuesday for anyone joining in with her Back Porch Blooms stitch along. I've got pots done and the leaves started, but no blooms.

Then lastly, focus on getting caught up on the Vintage Dresses. Not sure all of that is going to happen today, but at least it's a plan.
Enjoy your Saturday. Be sure to spend some time checking out all the pretty in pinks (and the odd teal) blocks over at Soscrappy. On Sunday you'll find even more scrappy fun over at this week's Oh Scrap.
You are doing a great job on these dresses! Enjoy your day in your sewing room!
ReplyDeleteWell, I just love your little dresses. I have an embroidery pattern hanging around my sewing room that does little dresses similar to yours...only embroidered. Watching yours month after month, I think I've decided to make that my next embroidery project. As for the flowers, it gives me an idea what to do with the leaf blocks I won in last month's Block Lotto. Thanks for the link to the tutorial. I might have to change up some of the measurements, but I think it could be a cute way to use my leaves. Isn't it great to get to spend a day sewing? I think that's what I'm going to do today.
ReplyDeleteYour dress is lovely! I hope you get to all three projects today.
ReplyDeleteHow's the heat? It's cranked back up here, and with the humidity is pure misery.
At first glance your teal fabric looks like velvet, so elegant. They are worth all the work. Plus you are improving your skills. A win-win situation for you. Have a fun week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new dress block. Your pots are looking good - they do need their flowers though.
ReplyDeleteThose dresses always make me smile!
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing!
Hooray for a Sew Day!!!
ReplyDeletePlans are good - even when they go awry. Happy stitching!!
ReplyDeleteYour teal dress is so pretty! Good for you for taking on something to challenge yourself. I bet you will love the results!
ReplyDeleteYou almost have me talked into starting my own dress quilt. I always love seeing your blocks. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely wear this one too! :)
