We did get to enjoy the afternoon, which mainly consisted of a nap for both of us. But I did eventually wander into the sewing room late in the day. I put the final seams into the first orange Vintage Dress block.

I like how it turned out. Orange is not my color, it makes be look ill, so I wouldn't be wearing this dress. I would certainly admire it on someone else. The central panel was fussy cut to capture the flowers in the center of the skirt. The paper piecing is getting easier, I've got a much better idea how to line up the seams now. The second orange dress should go fast, it's the dress with the fewest pieces. So hopefully there will be a green dress or maybe even two finished before the end of the month.
Linking up with Angela at Soscrappy for this week's Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLove the orange dress - it reminds me of a dress I made as a teenager!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics you selected. Great job. Boo on the squirrels in the attic... but an afternoon nap is worth it.
ReplyDeleteThose darn squirrels!! Seriously...thank goodness Jackson keeps them away! LOL!! Hey...I'm STILL on my purple RSC!! LOL!! I too like your orange dress. Have a great weekend. V
ReplyDeleteLove the fussy cut panel - very pretty dress.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this dress :)
ReplyDeleteYou must have great patience. Fussy cutting and paper piecing. Wow. I am impressed.

This may be my favorite. But, then, I've said that about each dress you've made!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely day, except for those darn squirrels! :) Your orange dress is lovely. I would definitely admire it if I saw it on some lucky lady! Enjoy your weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that gorgeous panel!
ReplyDeleteWhere do I order that dress? LOL! As always, your dresses are adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteyour dress is awesome. I found I can wear coral... a pinky orange, if it's intense in hue. In fact I kind of love that color right now, and have a jacket, a skirt and several shirts in it! No yellow undertones... pink ones. LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteWow...that dress is looking very elegant, for a nice dinner party. I'm the same way with red. I love red, and I wish I could wear it, but it looks terrible on me...or I look terrible in it.
ReplyDeleteAnother adorable dress! You have quite the wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteWe had a raccoon in our attic once and bats several times so I feel your pain!
Such a cute, er, chic dress! I can't wait to see them all together. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think the orange dress is great, but I probably wouldn't wear it either! That is going to be a fun quilt!
ReplyDeletePretty dress. Chic and elegant. I think I love them all.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is stunning, I really am enjoying seeing theses dresses. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteNo squirrels, but we've had mice in the attic. I have never been "in" the attic, but reach gingerly if I need something around the trapdoor.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on another beautiful dress! There is a learning curve with paper piecing and I think you are doing a great job with these!
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying seeing your dresses. You are doing a great job. I am looking forward to seeing them all together. I guess that could be called a "Rainbow Couturier Collection?"
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love your dress!
