Weekend Stitching and Completion of February's One Monthly Goal

It's going to be one of those manic weeks, so this is going to be a short post before the madness really gets started.  I'm on the road for a couple of days this week.  March will be a busy at work.  So yesterday was probably my last chance I had to do much stitching for while.

I did get in a solid afternoon of stitching yesterday.  Midnight Mystery is now a finished flimsy.

I like the bold red with the black and gray.  Though I wish there had been enough of the gray so that I could switch it with the red.  Now I need to dive into the stash to see what I've got for backing fabric. There is quite a bit of the tulip fabric left, but I'll have to augment it with something else from the stash.

Getting this to the finished flimsy stage was my One Monthly Goal for February. Since today is the last day of February, I'm squeaking in under the wire with this finish.  Not sure what I'll pick for my March goal.  It will have to be something simple, there simply won't be much stitching time.

  1. Your Midnight Mystery Quilt is outstanding. I agree that switching the gray and the red would have made your tulip fabric stars stand out. Yet it is a beautiful top.

  3. This looks awesome I also just finished my Midnight Mystery top (but sadly it wasn't my goal) Our quilt tops are almost opposites yours is bold and mine is soft. I like both. It's true that the tulips would have stood out more with the grey and red switched, but I think the grey makes a better contrast with the black than the red would have. Both are great options.

  6. Great job of sneaking that flimsy finish for February. Good luck picking out another goal that won't take much time in the sewing room. Do you do any handwork? Maybe a goal of 20 hexies sewn might make sense for you for March.
