Stash Report - Week 49 of 2015

Wow, it's week 49.  That jars the brain a bit, just 3 more weeks in 2015.  If history is any indicator, they will go fast.

I've not spent much time in blogland this week.  Last Sunday I starting coming down with whatever virus Drama Teen and My Guy had.  This is one nasty bug.  All I was good for on Thursday and Friday was dosing in the recliner and reading when I was awake.  I'm still not 100%, though it does appear the fever is gone.

There was some stitching early in the week before the fever hit hard and then I managed a bit last night.  Most of the outgoing in the report is the sashing for the McCall's Mystery quilt and the binding for Back to Square One.  The fabric for the fourth graduation quilt came in this week, so it's accounted for in this week's report.

Used last week:  1.12 yards
Used in November:  5.34 yards
Used in December:  0.64 yards
Used year to date:  44.77 yards
Purchased year to date:  30.25 yards
Net used for 2015:  14.52 yards

The last graduation quilt isn't really a graduation quilt, it's a thank you quilt for Drama Teen's journalism teacher.  This fabric is going to be the background fabric for the quilt.

The fabric is Story Spackle Newsprint from Windham.  I don't have all the details worked out for this one.  Drama Teen wanted me to incorporate the First Amendment and the various publications that come out of the journalism department.  I've got a little time on finishing up a design, but I shouldn't wait too long on figuring out the concept and layout.

That's it for me this week.  You can find more stash reports over at Judy's Patchwork Times.

  2. Considering how sick you've been, I think it's amazing that you used over a yard of fabric this week. I think the journalism teacher will be thrilled too.

  3. Recently I did a guild BOM that used the newsprint fabric as background on appliqued leaves. I really enjoyed the look. You sound like me...really not feeling well if you don't feel up to sewing. Sounds like you are doing better, that's good. Can't be sick during this time of year. Happy designing. Sandi

  4. Your net used numbers are looking very good for the year. It is hard to believe we are so close to the end of the 2015.
    Love the newsprint fabric.

  6. Glad you are feeling better. This year just zoomed by way to fast. Hopefully 2016 will pass a bit slower and we can all get more quilts made.

  7. Love that fabric, great for a Journalism teacher. I have to come up with something for squids teacher by tomorrow, was kinda hoping I didn't have to but she has put the hard word on me tonight. I'm going to have to duck out and pick up some supplies tonight so I can sew tomorrow.
