Needless to say with all the extra activities, there's not been a lot of stitching going on. I did get to spend some time playing in the sewing room last night. I managed to get another 15 inches or so of binding stitched on Back to Square One.
I'd hoped to do more, but the nail on my right thumb split down into the nail bed and it's amazing how much it hurts to hand stitch with it in that condition. I'm hoping it won't hurt so much this afternoon when I'll have some more time to stitch.
I spent some time getting the fabrics cut out for step 2 of Allietare. Yes I'm that far behind. I do hope to make some progress on steps 3 and 4 before the linky party tomorrow. But as I'm not counting any of the Allietare pieces as going out till they become blocks, the stash report is a bit anemic again this week.

Net used for 2015: 14.52 yards
There was nothing in to go with the nothing out, so it wasn't a bad week. With just one week to go, it's been hard to resist some of the end of year sales, but I'm keeping my eye on the prize of finishing this year with more out than in. That makes resisting just a bit easier. That and I'm being ruthless about deleting all those sale emails.

Put a bandaid tightly over that split nail and you should be able to stitch without pain. I had that happen once and that helped immensely. I hope you can finish your stitching. Life doesn't stop for the holidays. We just have to go with the flow.

ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for Christmas or the end of the year. Nice quilting on your square one quilt. I chuckled when I read your sentence that you went "home" to help your mother. Hubby and I have had our own home longer than either of us lived with moms & dads, but going to mom's is always "going home."
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cathie - a tight bandaid will do the job (been there) with that split nail. Lucky I scheduled a lite month as 2 unexpected events came up.
ReplyDeleteWe always seems like a crunch time when it should be a relaxing family time. DH has canceled Christmas gifts for the over 25 crowd this year since it is his year to buy presents for that group and I refused to do his shopping! The under 25 presents are all ready except for 1 teddy bear.

ReplyDeleteHang in there. I know exactly how bad that finger hurts. I use liquid bandage on many of my cuts and owies and it seems to make them heal faster. It really is a drag though when you are trying to get things finished for a deadline. Hope you are getting to work on your quilt binding today. The quilting looks great!

ReplyDeleteOuch on the nail! I hope it heals so you can get back to work. I still have two quilts to bind, but they're for the kids, so I don't have to worry about anything to mail anymore! Good job staying in the black. I haven't started the mystery - I want to see what it looks like first! ;)

I'm trying not to buy fabric too. It's hard for me because I have a Fat Quarter gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket.

Oh that does sound painful, I hope it won't take too long to heal. I agree, where has the last month gone or this past year for that matter. The first couple of months after my sons death dragged but the latter months have just flown by. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas, best wishes Wendy
