Stash Report - Week 46 of 2014

It's going to be a good Sunday to just stay home and putter in the sewing room.

This is what the radar looked like a few minutes ago.  The snow is not here yet, but it will be soon.  The forecast is for 1 to 3 inches. Drama Teen is hoping it will be enough so that there's no school tomorrow.  Since the snow is coming early, unless we get more than 3 inches, she'll probably have school.

On the stash front it was a pretty good week.  I decided a few months ago to focus only on what went out, not on what came in as my lack of will power to resist sales was making me cringe when I wrote my weekly reports.  However, the incoming this week was really gorgeous.

I was lucky enough to win a package of Vicki Welsh's hand died fabrics last month from Soscrappy (hostess of the addictive Rainbow Scrap Challenge).  I'm not sure where these pretties are going to end up, but I definitely need to come up with something very special for these fat eighths.  Thank you Angela.

How much left the stash this week?

Used last week:  2.46 yards
Used in November:  2.98 yards
Used year to date:  31.52 yards

Last week was really good.  I'm hoping to use at least 40 yards by the end of the year, 50 yards is my stretch target.  I doubt I make the 50 yard goal, but I think the 40 yard mark is pretty achievable.

That's it for my stash report.  Check out all the others posted over at Patchwork Times.

  3. Beautiful Fabrics Kate. Im sure you'll do them justice.

A couple of quilt backs will knock off those remaining needed yards to reach your goal.

  4. Hey! You could make a quilt from that radar image! I know someone who did that once! LOL Congrats on your win! To be honest...I never understood the whole in/out thing with the stash? We are all artists, and we need materials to work with? It puts too much pressure on our creative process to MAKE stuff leave our stash.....at least it does for me?

  5. Pretty fabrics. I won some of Vicki's fabrics a while back. They are great to work with. Still freezing temperatures here...and lots of ice.

  6. Congratulations on your win. I think a New York Beauty design would be awesome in those fabrics. Wow are they coming across my monitor as deep saturated colors...beautiful. Good luck on achieving your goals. Sandi
