I did make it into the sewing room a bit this week and finished up this month's scrappy butterfly block.
Scrappy Butterflies: Available in EQ7 Block Library |
I wasn't too sure about the bright print used for the top wings, but I like the end result.
The wild flowers have been blooming here. There is a field of Black Eyed Susans not far from the house.
They remind me of the crayon suns I used to draw when I was little. It's hard not to smile when I see whole fields of them.
I do hope to get in some stitching time this evening. We've got errands to run today. Hopefully I have a little time this morning to check out the sunshine yellow stitching posted over at SoScrappy.
Pretty new block, Kate! Glad your Guy made it home finally. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like the fabric you used in the butterfly. Looks good
ReplyDeleteI think your butterfly looks perfect Kate - that pop of unexpected colour is simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGlad My Guy made it home - and that you get to spend a little time together before the next round of trips.
I do like the print on your butterfly. They are supposed to be bright and happy animals after all. Glad you got your other half back again. It is no fun going it all alone.
ReplyDeleteThe cheery print in the upper wings is perfect. Puts a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterfly! Love the fabrics.

What a great butterfly. I was thinking the pink was my favorite but this one knocked it down to second place. Love your header and the flower just makes me think I need to make one as a wall hanging :)
ReplyDeleteGlad your other half is home for a bit. Life is much nicer with someone at your side.
Enjoy your weeks with your husband home. Last week at a quilt meeting, someone demonstrated a butterfly block similar to yours. It looked pretty easy and we'll probably make that quilt next as it looks like a good one for a group.
ReplyDeleteAww, I love the yellows! The upper wings are just perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove this butterfly pattern...thanks for sharing it's pattern resource.
