Stash Report - Week 20 of 2014

I really need to get into the sewing room more and stay off the computer.  Or I need to delete all the links to the on-line fabric stores.  It's a good thing that fabric doesn't have an expiration date.  This week's stash report is excessively loaded with acquisitions.  I fell in love with is Butterfly Garden panel.

I love the bright colors in this one, besides the fact it's got big, beautiful, bold butterflies on it. So how could it not come to live here for a while?  If I can find a worthy pattern, this is getting converted into a NewFO this month!

Then I made the mistake of clicking on the Connecting Threads email to look at something (thread I think) that was on sale.  But across the header was their new fabric line, Hometown Summer.

This line would be absolutely perfect for a QOV.  There is one on my bucket list for this year, so how could I not bring some of this home?

My final, and biggest mistake was clicking on the Fat Quarter Shop email and following the 24 Hour Flash Sale link.  One day last week, they had Michael Miller's Krystal line on sale for half price.  My stash is still really week in large cuts of tone on tone to use as backgrounds.  At that price it just made sense to order some larger cuts.  I ordered a few one and two yard cuts in a few of the really bright colors to use as accents.

I haven't even had a chance to get them out of the box yet.

Though I did mange to spend more time in the sewing room this week than I have in the recent past, no way is completing a couple of blocks going to compete with my recent purchases.  So here's the damage.

Used last week:  0.47 yards
Added last week:  75 yards

Used in 2014:  7.74
Added in 2014:  190 yards

Net stashed in 2014:  183.31 yards

I don't mind being positive most of time, but maybe not quite this positive, because now I'm way negative in terms of stash numbers. I'm sure you can find some much better examples of good stash management if you check out all the other links over at Patchwork Times.

  1. Love all those bright colors, I would not have been able to resist them either which is why I don't shop much on line.

  2. I have to just delete the email without ever looking. So far, it's working! You got some good stuff, though. Love the butterflies -- and the azaleas in your header.

  5. I really like the butterfly panel Kate. There was no way you were going to pass that up!

Woah ! You went nuts this week. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a figure that high. Congratulations? I think we can safely say negative numbers this year just aint gonna happen!)

  6. That butterly panel is so strikingly different. How could you pass it up? :) Ah, well. You'll do better next week with added stash numbers...because you'll be busy sewing from your stash!

  7. I think this buying splurge is in the air. I've added quite a bit of fabric this month also. But I wasn't smart enough to get those beautiful blenders. I may just check with you when I need a specific color! Do you live anywhere near Richmond??? Great purchases.

  8. Don't do anything rash now...deleting links to online fabric stores? Perish the thought.

  9. I saw Hometown Summer and thought the same thing! Probably going to be stashing that quite a bit. And hey - your stash report makes me feel better about the massive stack I brought home from Korea. Which I'm not even going to add up.

  10. Love those butterflies. I wish you hadn't shown the red, white and blues. I need some for some swap blocks and I just know I'll be buying a bit of each now xx
