Stash Report - Week 45 of 2013

It's sunny and mild this weekend.  My Guy and I took Friday off work and spent the day running around Tulsa.  Drama Teen was completely bummed by this as she had to go to school.  It was nice to have a "date day".  The rest of the weekend has been taken up with errands and stuff around the house.  I do hope to get some stitching in this afternoon.

I'm beginning to think that the end of the year is not only hard on weight reducing diets, but on stash diets too.  Every where I look there are some nice sales going on.  I've been admiring Moda's Nature's Basket line for several months.  The fat quarter bundle was on sale last week, somehow it ended up in my cart, along with some yardage.

No plans for this one yet.

My Guy asked if I wanted to stop at one of the quilt stores since we didn't really have any firm plan on where we had to be.  I said no, but then we ended up in the vicinity of one, so we stopped.  I wasn't completely happy with my red violet/pink fabric portion of Drama Teen's Jigsaw quilt.  There are a couple of fabrics that just weren't as bright as the others.  So I ended up buying a few more batiks in that colorway hoping that a couple would be good substitutes.

If they don't make it into DT's quilt, I'm sure they will end up in some other project.

There was a bit going out this week as I've made some progress on my November goals.  Even so, the stash report is pretty heavy on the incoming.

Used last week:  0.59 yards
Added last week:  23.5 yards

Used for 2013:  61.11 yards
Added for 2013:  235.83 yards

Net stashed for 2013:  174.72 yards

I really need to stop clicking on the emails from the fabric shops.  Maybe Christmas shopping will help me resist for a couple of months.

That's it for my stash report.  For more stash tales, check out the links over at Patchwork Times.

  1. You need to leave some fabric for people to buy you for Christmas! :D

  2. LOL - I try to delete all fabric shop emails as soon as I spot them. So far it's worked, but don't know when I'll break.
Nice stash enhancement you did there.

  3. Oooh I love those purple and pink batiks. Im sure they would have come home with me too...

I haven't bought much fabric at all this year and I cant tell you how long its been since I bought a fabric bundle.

    Enjoy your new acquisitions.

  4. Love that FQ bundle! - blue and brown is one of my fave combos. I know, those online shop newsletters can blow my budget out of the water every time. I've been deleting lots of them lately, unopened.

Although, last night DH asked me how much $$ is tied up in the lap quilt I'm making for his mother. Since I bought everything on sale, it's about half the regular price.

  5. So funny! Those towers just hop into your basket when you aren't looking.

  6. You are really stocking up the fabric for your stash. I can imagine that is lots of fun. Now if only you have time to put it to good use. I love your tower. Great color.
