Design Wall Monday - June 25th

On top of it being a busy weekend, it was a hot weekend as well.  The therometer in the car bumped between 100 and 103 all the way home from Oklahoma City yesterday.  We got home sweaty and tired.

I've spent some time in the sewing room this last week, but haven't sewn a stitch, so there's nothing new up on the design wall.  Sweet Treats and the RWB Stars are still there.

But there's been no progress on either this week.  The only sewing related activity has been to use EQ to mock up some potential fabric combinations to make Nicole's Sofa Quilt along with Judy over at Patchwork Times.

My favorite at the moment is the dark and light purple version on the lower left, though they all have potential.  I'm not sure if I'm going to make this quilt or not.  There are three active projects up on the design wall right now.  Is it wise to add another?  I really like the pattern and all of the above designs use fabric from the stash.  Both of those thoughts come down on the pro side of the list.  The only con is that adding another project will mean that I probably don't get as much done on my older UFOs.  Decisions, decisions!

  1. Love seeing the color combinations! I'm going to have to take a look at that. Thanks for the link, saved me a little time hunting for it.

  4. I love your take on Sweet Treats -- I couldn't get the picture to come up when I clicked on it ... are you doing it in 30's fabrics? Love the RW&B!! :)

  5. I'm working on my sweet treats too and trying to resist starting another project, when the treats aren't done!!

  6. Oh yes - what is one more project? Plus when it gets really hot - you can go cool off by the sewing machine ;-)

  7. I like the purple one, too! You can always save it for later in the year once you finish a project or two. Or just start it anyway!

  9. I say just go for it Kate. What's one more project? I like your favourite choice amongst the sofa quilt the best as well.

  10. I say if you have it in stash and your design wall is big enough to share your project with us on Mondays GO FOR IT! I like the soft version you are leaning towards. I noticed that you'll be making FG in your first hour....Sandi
