Foto Finish - Warm

Another weekend, another volleyball tournament.  The last of the club ball season.  It's actually not going to be too bad today, we don't have to be out of the house till late this morning, so I don't have to rush around madly gulping my coffee while making turkey sandwiches and stuffing the ice chest.  I may even get the chance to run upstairs and sew for a bit before we start the day's madness.

Saturday also means it's Foto Finish over at Cat Patches.  Barbara has proposed "warm" as this week's optional theme.  One thing that became clear as I looked through the photo files for an image, warm is not something that happens much in Oklahoma.  The winters are cold and the summers are hot.  Spring, which normally lasts for a week in this state is warm, but there wasn't really any photo in the spring ones that said warm.  Then there was this shot.

This image almost makes me feel warm just looking at it.  Why?   Though I have a wonderful corner office with a decent view to the south, all the windows make it hard to heat in the winter.  The office temperature might be in the high 50's to low 60's if it was freezing outside.  So when I was really feeling cold, I'd fire up the single cup espresso machine in my office and make myself a cappuccino.  The cup would warm up my hands and who doesn't appreciate a good caffeine rush to warm up the rest of you.

That's it for me today.  Have a wonderful weekend.  Check out all the other warm photos over at Cat Patches

  2. Ugh! I hate cold! Winter is creeping in slowly here. Yesterday afternoon was a cotton skirt and t-shirt, this morning it's track-pants and fleece top! Hopefully the weather will warm up as the day progresses! (Mind you, I feel cold when the temperature dips below 35°C - 77°F!)

  3. What a thoughtful photo, you're right nothing like a jolt of caffeine with a head of foam to really warm you up.

  5. There's been a lot of holding hot coffee in my hand here this past weekend just to keep warm.

    Love those frothy bubbles.
