15 Minute Challenge - September 27th

It's the last Tuesday in September.  Friday will be the last day in the 3rd quarter, leaving just 3 months left in the year.  Every year it seems this time of year comes faster and faster.  It's time to get really serious about finishing (starting?) quilts intended for Christmas gifts.  I have 4 more I'd like to finish.   I'm going to have meet my goal of spending at least 15 minutes in the sewing room every day between now and Christmas to get all of those 4 quilts finished.  How about you?  Have some quilts or other crafty gift ideas you want to finish up for Christmas?   Interested in participating in a Count Down to Christmas version of the 15 Minute Challenge?  Leave me a comment and let me know.

So how did this week go?  I did the same as last week, 5 days where I managed to spend at least 15 minutes in the sewing room.

Vanessa over at the Whirling Butterfly inspired me to try something a bit different this week for my 15 minute challenge report.  She has some amazing digital scrapbook pages on her blog.

I got going on the binding for the Buck-a-Block quilt.  I'm in the process of hand sewing the binding to the back.  It's such a big quilt, that's going to take me a while.  I also fussy cut all the 5.5" squares needed for the Geisha quilt and got started on piecing that one.  I've made a little progress on the purple and yellow quilt, but not much.  I spent the same time in the sewing room this week as last week, but this week feels like it was more productive.

How did you do this week on finding time for your crafty endeavors?  Link up and let us know.

  3. I like this idea! I'm setting weekly goals for myself on certain projects, and I've been trying to think of a way to keep track of them. My goal is to keep track of my goals, you might say. This could work!

  4. That is depressing when you say there is only 3 months to go... so little time so many projects to do before Christmas. AaAhHH better get the bandaids out for my raw fingers.

  5. I think you did pretty well considering you're flying solo and still had to go to work!

I have some ideas for Christmas sewing but with everything else that's going on here I'm not sure any of them will come to fruition! None of the things Im working on at the moment are actually for Christmas aside from Flurry! Let me think about your countdown to Christmas idea...

  6. The only thing I have planned for Christmas is making stockings .. not sure how many. If I would just do my 15 minutes I could do it quite quickly...

  7. Kate - LOVE your report! And the use of the brads to "pin" your daily cards.Especially LOVE the butterflies ("Vanessa" means butterfly)
I'm interested in the Countdown to Christmas version - might help get a few things that have been around for a while out of my cupboard! Or I could start some more Christmas things ...

  8. Ugh, can't think about Christmas yet--have to get through a wedding yet!

Love the pinboard idea for the challenge post--very cute indeed!

Good work on your 15 minutes per day. I took two nights off sewing and am now further behind than ever. Sigh.
