Favorite Things Friday - 1/7/2011

It's not quite Friday here, but it's coming (thank goodness!!!!).  My first week back at work after the Christmas holiday hasn't been bad, but kiddo's first week back at school after the break has been one drama filled evening after another.  Though I think we've reached a calm interlude this evening.  I'll savor the sanity while it lasts, which probably won't be long. 

OK, back to Friday and favorite things.  I collect a lot of fabric (as my stash reports for 2010 often attest).  There are a lot of different fabrics in the stash, but one of my favorite motifs is butterflies.  So over the last several years, I've collected quite a number of fabric prints with butterflies and/or or butterfly wings.  Here's a few of my favorites:

 

 
 





This isn't all my butterfly fabrics, but it's all I had scans of on the computer. Do you collect a certain kind of fabric or fabric motif?  I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all of my faves, but they'll find a home in some project at some point I'm sure.

    Love the colours in the butterfly fabrics - lots there to play with and make something fun.

    I tend to pick bright coloured fabrics with any motif which appeals to me at the time.

    Those butterfly fabrics are all very pretty. I love all the bright colours.
    No I don't have a specific motif I collect. Recently I picked up a few 50's repros but I have no idea what I'm going to do with them. I just usually pick fabric if i love the colour or the pattern.

    Beautiful Butterfly's.
    I totally understand.... mine is "Horses" and I too can't say I have something in mind for all them but I do collect them and look at them often.

    Oh, Kate, I love your butterfly fabrics! That third one from the bottom, where can I get some of that!?? I don't collect any themed fabrics, but I enjoyed seeing yours. Great FTF post!

    I'm more of a geometrics girl usually, but I have a scan of some green fabric with pink, purple and yellow butterflies as my desktop background on the computer.

    I, too, am partial to butterfly fabric. In fact I have that first one pictured. What a great favorite!

    I had one piece of butterfly fabric and used it. I had no idea it came in such a wide variety of designs - have I been living under a rock ?

    The second to last picture looks like a work of art! So pretty...

    Pretty! I don't collect any certain motif though seem to be drawn to polka dots and stripes a lot. Mostly I just like anything green, my favorite color :)
